21. Energy efficient indoor climate control - A practical approach for enhanced implementability
Sammanfattning : This work deals with energy efficient indoor climate control in office buildings, with an emphasis on implementability. More specifically, the aim is to suggest and evaluate improvements to building automation systems that are sufficiently simple and efficient to be realistic alternatives to commonly-used systems. 22. Designing visualization and interaction for industrial control rooms of the future
Sammanfattning : During the last decades, the industry has been undergoing extensive digitization leading to complex ensembles of humans, machines, autonomous agents, and sensors. With this new setup comes the challenge of how to appropriately support work-practices of industrial operators who now need to monitor and control complex industrial processes through remote interfaces. 23.
Closed-Loop Combustion Control of a Multi Cylinder HCCI Engine using Variable Compression Ratio and Fast Thermal Management
Sammanfattning : The current Spark Ignited (SI) engine equipped with three-way catalyst offers low emissions, but has low efficiency at part load, which results in unnecessarily high CO2 emissions. The Compression Ignited (CI) engines have higher efficiency and hence lower CO2 emissions, but suffer from higher Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Particulate Matter (PM) emissions, and no three-way catalyst can be used. 25. Adapting Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems for Office Buildings without Active Control Dampers
Sammanfattning : In commercial buildings the building services systems may account for a substantial part of the need of energy. There is, at least in Sweden, a large existing stock of 20 to 30 year old office buildings, which are supplied with centralised constant air volume flow (CAV) air conditioning systems with the primary function to keep the room temperature at an acceptable level summertime.
