    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses powder manufactured (P/M) components, with special attention to the compaction process and to the sensitivity to damage accumulation due to fatigue within powder compacted specimens. Three dimensional simulations of the compaction process have been performed, using an explicit dynamic dilatant finite strain finite element code supplemented with the effects from contact friction within the die, modelled by Coulomb friction.     Sammanfattning : This work focuses on efficient modelling and adaptive control of friction damping in bladed disks. To efficiently simulate the friction contact, a full-3D time-discrete contact model is reformulated and an analytical expression for the Jacobian matrix is derived that reduces the computation time drastically with respect to the classical finite difference method.     Sammanfattning : As the corrugated board industry strives to produce products with a higher print quality in the converting stage, there is a need for a greater understanding of the factors influencing the final print quality and how we perceive the print. In this work, a method for quantifying the print quality of printed corrugated board is presented as well as methods that quantitatively characterize the mechanical interaction between the printing form and the corrugated board in the printing nip.
