  1. 1. Estimation-based iterative learning control

    Författare :Johanna Wallén; Mikael Norrlöf; Svante Gunnarsson; Jian-Xin Xu; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Iterative learning control; estimation; industrial robotics; performance; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In many  applications industrial robots perform the same motion  repeatedly. One way of compensating the repetitive part of the error  is by using iterative learning control (ILC). The ILC algorithm  makes use of the measured errors and iteratively calculates a  correction signal that is applied to the system. LÄS MER

  2. 2. EM Estimation in Phase Type Models

    Författare :Marita Olsson; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :phase type distributions; coxian distribution; EM algorithm; I-divergence; density estimation; right censoring; interval censoring; standard error estimation; asymptotic theory; jackknife; relapse clinical trials; survival data; hidden Markov chain; I-divergence;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four articles whose theme in common is the class of phase type distributions. In the first article an EM algorithm is presented to estimate the parameters of a phase type distribution of fixed order. Also, it is shown that the algorithm can be used to approximate other continuous distributions by phase type distributions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Model Reduction and Parameter Estimation for Diffusion Systems

    Författare :Bharath Bhikkaji; Torsten Söderström; Claes Breitholtz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diffusion system; Partial differential equations PDEs ; Model reduction; PDE solvers; Finite difference approximation; Chebyshev polynomials; System identification; Parameter estimation; Recursive estimation; Frequency domain estimation; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion is a phenomenon in which particles move from regions of higher density to regions of lower density. Many physical systems, in fields as diverse as plant biology and finance, are known to involve diffusion phenomena. Typically, diffusion systems are modeled by partial differential equations (PDEs), which include certain parameters. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Automation of front-end loaders : electronic self leveling and payload estimation

    Författare :I Yung; Leonid Freidovich; Sven Rönnbäck; Carlos Vázquez; Tomas Nygren; Heikki Handroos; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Front-End Loaders; Electronic Self Leveling; Modeling; Control; Disturbance estimation; Payload estimation; Equations of motion; Pressure-based friction;

    Sammanfattning : A growing population is driving automatization in agricultural industry to strive for more productive arable land. Being part of this process, this work is aimed to investigate the possibility to implement sensor-based automation in a particular system called Front End Loader, which is a lifting arms that is commonly mounted on the front of a tractor. 5. 5. On the Mean Square Error of Transfer Function Estimates with Applications to Control

    Författare :Svante Gunnarsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mean square error; Transfer function; Estimation; Applications;

    Sammanfattning : In this report we study the mean square error of transfer function estimates obtained by identification. The model quality is related to the use of models in regulator design, and the properties of affecting the bias part of the mean square error, both in fixed parameter control and adaptive control.
