  1. 6. Quality-Driven Synthesis and Optimization of Embedded Control Systems

    Författare :Soheil Samii; Petru Eles; Zebo Peng; Samarjit Chakraborty; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Embedded control; distributed embedded systems; distributed control; control quality; control performance; scheduling; optimization; adaptive system; multi-mode system; fault tolerance; self-triggered control; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses several synthesis and optimization issues for embedded control systems. Examples of such systems are automotive and avionics systems in which physical processes are controlled by embedded computers through sensor and actuator interfaces. LÄS MER

  2. 7. The Assessment of Capacity for Myoelectric Control : Psychometric evidence and comparison with upper limb prosthetic outcome measures

    Författare :Helen Lindner; Liselotte Hermansson; Ann-Christin Eliasson; Ann Langius Eklöf; Helena Burger; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; capacity; comparison; icf; myoelectric control; psychometric evidence; upper limb prosthesis;

    Sammanfattning : Evaluation of outcomes using validated prosthetic outcome measures (OMs) is a current priority in upper limb (UL) prosthetics, and OMs with psychometric evidence toward UL prosthesis users are thus necessary. The “Assessment of Capacity for Myoelectric Control” (ACMC) is a tool that assesses the ability to control a myoelectric prosthetic hand. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Feeding Strategies Based on Probing Control for E. coli and V. cholerae Cultivations

    Författare :Lena de Maré; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik; Automation; Temperature; Mid-ranging control; Amino acid; Complex media; Fed-batch bioreactors; Probing control; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; Parameter estimation; Feeding strategies;

    Sammanfattning : The recombinant DNA techniques have made it possible to produce many different proteins for a wide range of applications. The vector encoding for the recombinant protein is often inserted in the bacterium E. coli as it is a well studied and a well-known organism. To achieve a high productivity, it is important to reach a high cell density. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Probing Control of Glucose Feeding in Escherichia coli Cultivations

    Författare :Mats Åkesson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automatiska system; control engineering; robotics; Automation; dissolved oxygen; acetate; glucose feeding; robotteknik; Escherichia coli; Process control; fed-batch cultivation; reglerteknik; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Production of many proteins can today be made using genetically modified organisms. One of the most frequently used host organisms is the bacterium Escherichia coli. A difficulty encountered in cultivations of E. coli is the accumulation of the metabolic by-product acetate which inhibits cell growth and production of a desired protein. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Fundamental Control Performance Limitations for Interarea Oscillation Damping and Frequency Stability

    Författare :Joakim Björk; Karl H. Johansson; Lennart Harnefors; Joe H. Chow; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power system control; HVDC transmission control; interarea oscillations; power oscillation damping; small-signal stability; fundamental control limitations; frequency stability; hydro power; wind power; non-minimum phase; zero dynamics; eigenvalue analysis; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : With the transition towards renewable energy and the deregulation of the electricity markets, the power system is changing. Growing electricity demand and more intermittent power production increase the need for transfer capacity. Lower inertia levels due to a higher share of renewables increase the need for fast frequency reserves (FFR). LÄS MER
