6. Molecular recognition and dynamics in proteins studied by NMR
Sammanfattning : Knowledge of dynamics in protein is very important in the description of protein function and molecular recognition. The thesis investigates protein dynamics on time-scales from milli- to sub-nanosecond, with focus on the latter, using NMR spin relaxation experiments on two proteins, the 138-residue carbohydrate recognition domain of galectin-3 (Gal3C) and the 56-residue B1 domain of bacterial protein G (PGB1). 7. Resonant magnetic perturbation effect on the tearing mode dynamics : Novel measurements and modeling of magnetic fluctuation induced momentum transport in the reversed-field pinch
Sammanfattning : The tearing mode (TM) is a resistive instability that can arise in magnetically confined plasmas. The TM can be driven unstable by the gradient of the plasma current. When the mode grows it destroys the magnetic field symmetry and reconnects the magnetic field in the form of a so-called magnetic island. LÄS MER
8. Property Impacts on Heat Exchanger Design in CO2 Cryogenic Process of Carbon Capture and Storage
Sammanfattning : Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one of the most promising technologies which can significantly reduce CO2 emissions. A better understanding of thermo-physical properties of CO2 mixtures is required for the design and operation of different CCS processes. LÄS MER
9. A Study of Factors Affecting the Particle Size for Water Atomised Metal Powders
Sammanfattning : The production of metal powders by water atomisation is a well established process, which can be used to produce a wide range of particle sizes. A careful control of the particle size distribution is necessary, to atomise powders with a high quality and at a low production cost. LÄS MER
10. The effects of mixing on the enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass
Sammanfattning : Biorefining of lignocellulosic biomass into biofuels and chemicals can help replace fossil resources and decrease anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. This thesis is focused on the effects of mixing on the enzymatic hydrolysis of pretreated biomass. LÄS MER
