  1. 1. Physiological consequences of Elongator complex inactivation in Eukaryotes

    Författare :Tony Karlsborn; Anders Byström; Hans Ronne; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elongator complex; wobble uridine modifications; IKBKAP; IKAP; Familial dysautonomia; Untargeted Metabolic profiling.; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Mutations found in genes encoding human Elongator complex subunits have been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders such as familial dysautonomia (FD), rolandic epilepsy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. In addition, loss-of-function mutations in genes encoding Elongator complex subunits cause defects in neurodevelopment and reduced neuronal function in both mice and nematodes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Immunometabolic regulation in natural HIV-1 control

    Författare :Maike Sperk; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The elite controllers (EC) are a rare group of people living with HIV-1 infection (PLHIV) that can control viral replication in the absence of antiretroviral therapy for a prolonged time. The mechanisms behind elite control phenotype leading to viral suppression are not fully elucidated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Metabolomics and wood development : catching a metabolome

    Författare :Annika Johansson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The tree industry is one of Sweden's most important economic sectors, producing pulp, paper, wooden goods and wood as a bioenergy source. Understanding the biology behind the processes of tree growth and wood development is a key to maximizing the use of wood as raw material. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effects of dietary fibre on the human metabolism and metabolome

    Författare :Anna Johansson Persson; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; arabinoxylan; b-glucan; dietary fibre; inflammation; LC-MS; metabolomics; oat; pectin; postprandial response; randomised controlled trial; rye; sugar beet fibre;

    Sammanfattning : It is well-known that dietary fibre can have a positive effect on the development of lifestyle-dependent diseases such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. However, the effect may be different for different kinds of fibre and different sub-populations at risk. LÄS MER
