  2. 2. Isomeric yield ratio measurements with JYFLTRAP : In quest of the angular momentum of the primary fragments

    Författare :Vasileios Rakopoulos; Mattias Lantz; Stephan Pomp; Andreas Solders; José Benlliure; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; nuclear fission; angular momentum; fission fragments; isomeric yield ratios; fission products; scission; Penning trap.; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, isomeric yield ratios of twenty nuclides produced in the fission of natU and 232Th by protons at 25-MeV and natU by high-energy neutrons were studied. The experiments were performed at the IGISOL-JYFLTRAP facility at the University of Jyväskylä. LÄS MER

  3. 3. In-Beam Spectroscopy of the Extremely Neutron Deficient Nuclei 169Ir and 110Xe

    Författare :Mikael Sandzelius; Bo Cederwall; Lars Westerberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes new results obtained from experimental studies of the extremely neutron-deficient isotopes 169Ir and 110Xe, close to the proton drip-line. The experiments use state-of-the-art equipment for nuclear spectroscopy where a large high-resolution Germanium-detector array is coupled to a high-transmission recoil separator and using the highly selective recoil-decay tagging technique. 4. 4. In-beam study of 106Te and 107Te using the recoil decay tagging technique

    Författare :Baharak Hadinia; Bo Cederwall; Per-Erik Tegnér; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Atomic nuclei are complex many-body systems and exhibit an interplay between single-particle and collective degrees of freedom. In order to describe and predict the “behavior” of nucleons inside the nuclei a variety of theoretical models have been created, each applicable to their own domain of nuclear phenomena. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Isomeric yield ratio studies in nuclear reactions and alpha-particle induced fission of Thorium

    Författare :Simone Cannarozzo; Stephan Pomp; Andreas Solders; Stefan Leupold; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Despite decades of research since the initial discovery of nuclear fission, numerous unresolved questions still persist. It is known empirically that fission fragments emerge with high angular momentum. The mechanism responsible for the generation of the large angular momenta observed is one of these open questions.
