7. Perspectives on Climate Policy : Induced technological change, land competition and global income inequality
Sammanfattning : Emissions of carbon dioxide enhance the natural greenhouse effect, which may cause higher average global surface temperatures. To avoid climate change, carbon emissions must decrease or carbon must be removed from the atmosphere. In order to achieve this, intervening policies are necessary. LÄS MER
8. Path Dependence and Path Shaping : Unearthing institutional dynamics in large-scale project organizing
Sammanfattning : Over the last two decades, large-scale project endeavors or major programs that typically deliver a substantial physical infrastructure or a complex product with a lifetime that can extend for decades and across industries have become the norm for many utility sectors, such as transport, energy, water, or food. The allure of ever-larger projects shows no sign of fading away in the face of sustainable development and grand societal challenges – quite the contrary. LÄS MER
9. Non-destructive detection of glue deficiency in laminated wood using thermography
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the work described in this doctorate thesis has been to study the potential of the non-contact and non-destructive test (NDT) method, thermography, to detect glue deficiency beneath a thin laminated layer of wood. The technological applications can for example be found in the parquet flooring industry. LÄS MER
10. Energy Policy Instruments Perspectives on their Choice, Combination and Evaluation
Sammanfattning : Abstract The thesis aims at providing a better understanding of public policy instruments used in policy-making within the energy sector, particularly regarding their role in the change towards an increased use of renewable energy sources for generation of electricity. The research was guided by an underlying assumption that a markedly higher proportion of the energy generated from renewable sources can be considerably enhanced by use of policy instruments that support the development and the market creation of new, renewable energy technologies.
