11. Urban Area Information Extraction From Polarimetric SAR Data
Sammanfattning : Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) has been used for various remote sensing applications since more information could be obtained in multiple polarizations. The overall objective of this thesis is to investigate urban area information extraction from PolSAR data with the following specific objectives: (1) to exploit polarimetric scattering model-based decomposition methods for urban areas, (2) to investigate effective methods for man-made target detection, (3) to develop edge detection and superpixel generation methods, and (4) to investigate urban area classification and segmentation. 12. Atomic decomposition of molecular properties
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, new methodology of computing properties aimed for multipleapplications is developed. We use quantum mechanics to compute propertiesof molecules, and having these properties as a basis, we set up equations basedon a classical reasoning. LÄS MER
13. Multi-year maintenance optimisation for paved public roads - segment based modelling and price-directive decomposition
14. Methods to Generate Size- and Composition Controlled Aerosol Nanoparticles
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes experiments performed using different methods to produce aerosol nanoparticles with control over size and composition. The process included differential mobility analyzers (DMAs) as size-selecting instruments and tube furnaces for particle synthesis. LÄS MER
15. Modelling phase separation in Fe-Cr alloys : A continuum approach
Sammanfattning : The formation of Cr-rich and Fe-rich domains upon ageing of an initially homogeneous Fe-Cr alloy at elevated temperatures (300-600 ºC) is commonly referred to as phase separation. The behaviour originates from a miscibility gap in the Fe-Cr phase diagram. LÄS MER
