    Sammanfattning : Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) has been used for various remote sensing applications since more information could be obtained in multiple polarizations. The overall objective of this thesis is to investigate urban area information extraction from PolSAR data with the following specific objectives: (1) to exploit polarimetric scattering model-based decomposition methods for urban areas, (2) to investigate effective methods for man-made target detection, (3) to develop edge detection and superpixel generation methods, and (4) to investigate urban area classification and segmentation. 2. 2. Comprehensive non-target screening to find and identify new biomagnifying organic contaminants in Baltic Sea top consumers

    Författare :Andriy Rebryk; Peter Haglund; Christine Gallampois; Mats Tysklind; Jacob de Boer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Baltic Sea; persistent organic pollutants; contaminants of emerging concern; non-target screening; GC-MS; biomagnification; temporal trends; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi; environmental science; miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The development of industrial processes in the 19th and 20th centuries, in particular oil refining, resulted in a huge discovery and subsequent large-scale production of a variety of chemicals. These useful chemicals supposedly made the everyday lives of people easier and better by, for instance, controlling the spread of diseases such as malaria, through the use of DDT and other organochlorine pesticides (OCPs). 3. 3. Ground Object Recognition using Laser Radar Data : Geometric Fitting, Performance Analysis, and Applications

    Författare :Christna Grönwall; Fredrik Gustafsson; Kalle Åström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser radar; object detection; object recognition; performance; least squares; ICP; Cramér-Rao; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns detection and recognition of ground object using data from laser radar systems. Typical ground objects are vehicles and land mines. For these objects, the orientation and articulation are unknown. The objects are placed in natural or urban areas where the background is unstructured and complex. LÄS MER
