  1. 1. Eftertanke och förutseende. En rättsvetenskaplig studie om ansvar och skyldigheter kring förorenade områden

    Författare :Jan Darpö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Law; miljörätt; förorening; förorenad mark; ansvar; RÄTTSVETENSKAP JURIDIK; LAW JURISPRUDENCE; RÄTTSVETENSKAP JURIDIK; Miljörätt; Environmental Law;

    Sammanfattning : This study examines legal issues concerning contaminated areas (land and water areas polluted by industrial or other human activities). It focuses on legal obligations on the various parties who have been involved in the activities causing the pollution, or in other ways are connected to such areas. Certain prerequisites determine the examination. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Landslide of contaminated soil into rivers: Environmental impacts and risks

    Författare :Gunnel Göransson; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; contaminated soil; landslide; risk assessment; river; water quality;

    Sammanfattning : Landslide risk assessments and environmental risk assessments are routinely carried out in many countries exposed to landslide hazards and/or contaminated soil hazards, but separately from each other. By combining results from different types of risk assessments and superimposing the results, possible multi-hazards may be revealed, which is not the case when the results are only displayed independently. 3. 3. Emerging technologies for climate-neutral urban areas : An Industrial Ecology perspective

    Författare :Asterios Papageorgiou; Cecilia Sundberg; Rajib Sinha; Maria Malmström; Ola Eriksson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban areas; climate neutrality; solar microgrid; biochar; Life Cycle Assessment; Material and Energy Flow Analysis; Substance Flow Analysis; Urbana områden; klimatneutralitet; solmikronät; biokol; livscykelanalys; material- och energiflödesanalys; substansflödesanalyss; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : The ever-increasing concentration of human activity in urban areas induces environmental problems beyond their boundaries on scales ranging from local to regional to global, such as resource depletion, land degradation, air and water pollution and climate change. Human-induced climate change is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest sustainability challenges of the present century and it is inextricably linked to urbanization. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Soil Remediation and Sustainable Development : Creating Appropriate Solutions for Marginalized Regions

    Författare :Henrik Haller; Anders Jonsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The scope of this doctoral thesis is appropriate soil remediation methods for marginalized regions that go beyond pollution reduction targets and include strategies to support sustainable development. Contaminated soil from industrial or agricultural activities poses potential health threats to animals and humans and also threatens economic systems by making land unsuitable for agriculture and other economic purposes. 5. 5. Uncertainty, variability and environmental risk analysis

    Författare :Monika Filipsson; Tomas Öberg; Bo Bergbäck; Lars Rosén; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :Contaminated land; exposure assessment; exposure factors; risk analysis; risk perception; uncertainty; variability; probabilistic risk assessment; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : The negative effects of hazardous substances and possible measures that can be taken are evaluated in the environmental risk analysis process, consisting of risk assessment, risk communication and risk management. Uncertainty due to lack of knowledge and natural variability are always present in this process. LÄS MER
