11. On the Arctic Boundary Layer : From Turbulence to Climate
Sammanfattning : The boundary layer is the part of the atmosphere that is in direct contact with the ground via turbulent motion. At mid-latitudes the boundary layer is usually one or a few kilometers deep, while in the Arctic it is much more shallow, typically a few hundred meters or less. LÄS MER
12. Short term water heat storage : an experimental and numerical investigation of phenomena that affect the degree of thermal stratification
Sammanfattning : Thermal stratification was studied by measurements of the temperature and velocity fields in water heat storage's and by numerical simulations. The work includes experimental investigations in three model heat storage's of different size and comparisons to numerical simulations for two of the storages. LÄS MER
13. Studies of the flow pattern in short term hot water storages
Sammanfattning : This thesis relates to the study of thermally stratified hot water storages used in district heating systems and is an extension of the doctoral theses of Jan Dahl and Roger Hermansson. The thermal performance of a stratified water storage is reduced by different phenomena such as heat transfer to the surroundings and mixing between hot and cold water during the charging of the tank. 14. The Uncertainty-Embedded Innovation Process : A study of how uncertainty emerges in the innovation process and of how firms address that to create novelty
Sammanfattning : Despite much discussion in the literature of uncertainties in relation to the innovation process, there is little knowledge of how they emerge in this process. This thesis accordingly aims to understand how uncertainty emerges in the innovation process and how firms address that uncertainty to create novelty from the process. LÄS MER
15. Organising Industrial Activities - An analytical framework
Sammanfattning : The way in which industrial activities are organised among firms has been a fundamental theoretical concern for a long time. In practice, firms have found these matters, referred to as make-or-buy issues, difficult to analyse. LÄS MER
