  1. 16. Aldolases for Enzymatic Carboligation : Directed Evolution and Enzyme Structure-Function Relationship Studies

    Författare :Huan Ma; Mikael Widersten; Wolf-Dieter Fessner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aldolase; 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase; fructose-6-phosphate aldolase; directed evolution; enzyme dynamics; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The research summarized in this thesis focuses on directed evolution and enzyme mechanism studies of two aldolases: 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase (DERA) and fructose-6-phosphate aldolase (FSA).Aldolases are nature’s own catalysts for one of the most fundamental reactions in organic chemistry: the formation of new carbon-carbon bonds.     Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical exchange; Conformational entropy; Entropy; Galectin-3; Isothermal Titration Calorimetry; ITC; Model-free formalism; Molecular recognition; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; NMR; PGB1; Protein dynamics; Protein–ligand interactions; Proton-transfer reactions; Spin relaxation; Viscosity; Chemical exchange; Conformational entropy; Entropy; Galectin-3; Isothermal Titration Calorimetry; ITC; Model-free formalism; Molecular recognition; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; NMR; PGB1; Protein dynamics; Protein–ligand interactions; Proton-transfer reactions; Spin relaxation; Viscosity;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge of dynamics in protein is very important in the description of protein function and molecular recognition. The thesis investigates protein dynamics on time-scales from milli- to sub-nanosecond, with focus on the latter, using NMR spin relaxation experiments on two proteins, the 138-residue carbohydrate recognition domain of galectin-3 (Gal3C) and the 56-residue B1 domain of bacterial protein G (PGB1). 3. 18. Inside the Box - Cultures of Innovation in a Mature Industry

    Författare :Yaqian Wang; Institutet för Ekonomisk forskning; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Innovation; Organizational Culture; Innovation Culture; Dynamics; Mature Industry;

    Sammanfattning : Innovation has been regarded a crucial means by which organizations adapt to the changes in the environment. Previous studies have identified organizational culture as a key factor that influences innovation, suggesting that a culture with certain characteristics can lead to superior innovation performance. 4. 19. Low Frequency Acoustic Excitation and Laser Sensing of Vibration as a Tool for Remote Characterization of Thin Sheets

    Författare :Etienne Mfoumou; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nondestructive testing; remote acoustics; slow dynamics; nonequilibrium dynamics; resonance frequency; material characterization; vibration-based technique; fracture toughness;

    Sammanfattning : There is a need to monitor the existence and effects of damage in structural materials. Bulk components provide a much publicized example, but the need exists in a variety of other structures, such as layered materials used in food packaging industries. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Baltic Sea phytoplankton in a changing environment

    Författare :Mireia Bertos-Fortis; Catherine Legrand; Ilana Berman-Frank; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phytoplankton ecology; cyanobacteria; dynamics; environmental factors; successional patterns; interactions; life strategies; non-ribosomal peptides; diversity; nodularin; N. spumigena; Akvatisk ekologi; Aquatic Ecology;

    Sammanfattning : Future climate scenarios in the Baltic Sea project increasing sea surface temperature, as well as increasing precipitation and river runoff resulting in decreased salinity. These changes can severely impact the dynamics and function of brackish water communities, specifically phytoplankton. LÄS MER
