  1. 11. Smart Cooperation with Network Coding in Hierarchical Wireless Networks

    Författare :Nan Li; Lars Kildehöj Rasmussen; Daniel Lucani; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless communications; Hierarchical networks; 5G; Cognitive radio; Internet of Things; Cooperative communications; Spectrum sharing; Network coding; Optimization; Performance analysis.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : To achieve more dynamic, efficient and intelligent use of the scarce wireless spectrum resource, the concept of cooperation has been formalized into several hierarchical network models in future mobile networks. Cooperative communications, such as relaying, can potentially increase communication efficiency and spectrum utilization due to the broadcast nature of wireless networks, and may lead to a better support for diverse communication modes with flexible spectrum sharing. 2. 12. Efficient Methods for Volumetric Illumination

    Författare :Frida Gyllensvärd; Anders Ynnerman; Anders Persson; Markus Hadwiger; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Modern imaging modalities can generate three-dimensional datasets with a very high detail level. To transfer all the information to the user in an efficient way there is a need for three-dimensional visualization. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Spectral-element simulations of turbulent wall-bounded flows including transition and separation

    Författare :Johan Malm; Dan Henningson; Philipp Schlatter; Suad Jakirlic; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :spectral-element method; direct numerical simulation DNS ; large-eddy simulation LES ; turbulence; transition; over-integration; three-dimensional separation; massively parallel simulations; proper orthogonal decomposition POD ; Koopman modes; vorticity stretching; coherence; SRA - E-vetenskap SeRC ; SRA - E-Science SeRC ;

    Sammanfattning : The spectral-element method (SEM) is used to study wall-bounded turbulent flowsin moderately complex geometries. The first part of the thesis is devoted to simulations of canonical flow cases, such as temporal K-type transitionand turbulent channel flow, to investigate general resolution requirements and computational efficiency of the numerical code nek5000. 4. 14. L'Autorité dissimulée - l'autorité manifeste : L'écriture de la violence chez Yasmina Khadra

    Författare :Simon Hartling; Jörgen Bruhn; Philippe Hamon; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Yasmina Khadra; Violence; Autorité; Indicible; Littérature algérienne; Guerre civile algérienne; Agneaux; Loups; Franska med litteraturvetenskaplig inriktning; French literature;

    Sammanfattning : This study examines the representation of violence in two novels by Algerian author Yasmina Khadra (1955 - ): Les Agneaux du Seigneur (1998) and À quoi rêvent les loups (1999). The narrative techniques employed in these texts and, more directly, the assertions made by the author in interviews and autobiographical works give the impression of a writer aiming to impose on the reader a specific view of the Algerian civil war (1992-1998) while at the same time asserting that the novels are objective representations of the same historical period. 5. 15. Haptic and visual simulation of material cutting process : a study focused on bone surgery and the use of simulators for education and training

    Författare :Magnus G. Eriksson; Jan Wikander; Ingela Nyström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; surgical simulation; virtual reality; haptic feedback; surgical training; medical simulators; metrics; 3D visualization; Medical technology; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : A prototype of a haptic and virtual reality simulator has been developed for simulation of the bone milling and material removal process occurring in several operations, e.g. temporal bone surgery or dental milling. The milling phase of an operation is difficult, safety critical and very time consuming. LÄS MER
