  1. 1. Haptic Feedback Control Methods for Steering Systems

    Författare :Tushar Chugh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; passivity and coupled stability; torque and position overlay; Haptic feedback; impedance and admittance control; system identification; steering system;

    Sammanfattning : Haptic feedback from the steering wheel is an important cue that defines the steering feel in the driver-vehicle interaction. The steering feedback response in an electric power assisted steering is primarily dependent on its control strategy. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents research in the development and use of a multi-modal visual and haptic virtual model in higher education. The model, named Chemical Force Feedback (CFF), represents molecular recognition through the example of protein-ligand docking, and enables students to simultaneously see and feel representations of the protein and ligand molecules and their force interactions. Sammanfattning : Steering feedback is an important element that defines driver–vehicle interaction. It strongly affects driving performance and is primarily dependent on the steering actuator's control strategy. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Haptics with Applications to Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Planning

    Författare :Pontus Olsson; Ingrid B. Carlbom; Blake Hannaford; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; medical image processing; haptics; haptic rendering; haptic gripper; visuo-haptic co-location; vibrotactile feedback; surgery simulation; virtual surgery planning; cranio-maxillofacial surgery; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Virtual surgery planning systems have demonstrated great potential to help surgeons achieve a better functional and aesthetic outcome for the patient, and at the same time reduce time in the operating room resulting in considerable cost savings. However, the two-dimensional tools employed in these systems today, such as a mouse and a conventional graphical display, are difficult to use for interaction with three-dimensional anatomical images. 5. 5. Haptic Milling Simulation in Six Degrees-of-Freedom : With Application to Surgery in Stiff Tissue

    Författare :Magnus G. Eriksson; Jan Wikander; Dwight Meglan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Surgical simulation; Virtual reality; Haptic feedback; Surgical training; Medical simulators; 3D visualization; Six degrees-of-freedom; Bone milling;

    Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis describes a substantial part of the design of a prototypical surgical training simulator. The results are intended to be applied in future simulators used to educate and train surgeons for bone milling operations. LÄS MER
