    Sammanfattning : In blood, the oxygen-transporting protein hemoglobin (Hb) governs the oxygenation of cells and tissues. Naturally, this protein has claimed a place in the center of the research field of artificial oxygen therapeutics. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Phytoglobins: Elucidation of Structural, Functional and Practical Features of Non-Symbiotic Plant Hemoglobins

    Författare :Simon Christensen; Tillämpad biokemi; []

    Sammanfattning : Phytoglobins (Pgb) (plant hemoglobins) are heme-containing proteins and less well known in comparison to the mammalian counterparts hemoglobin (Hb) andmyoglobin (Mb). They share the same secondary structure as other globin-related proteins, six to eight α-helices comprising the myoglobin-fold (Mb-fold) with one prosthetic heme moiety per subunit. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Production and Characterisation of Aquaporins and Proton-Translocating Transhydrogenase

    Författare :Mikael Ekvall; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aquaporins; transhydrogenase; membrane proteins; x-ray chrystallography; structure; protein production; overproduction;

    Sammanfattning : Dissertation Abstract Water transport in eukaryotic cells is a highly regulated and fine-tuned process. Water channel protein known as aquaporins (AQPs), constitute the main cellular water transport system, preserving water homeostasis by maintaining specific selectivity-mechanisms. LÄS MER
