  1. 11. Injury Prevention in Youth Male and Female Floorball Players : Effects, Compliance, and Experiences of the Knee Control Programme

    Författare :Ida Åkerlund; Martin Hägglund; Sofi Sonesson; Markus Waldén; Kati Pasanen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Compliance; Injury prevention; Implementation; Motivation; Neuromuscular training; Youth; Följsamhet; Idrottsskador; Motivation; Skadeförebyggandeträning; Ungdomsidrott;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Floorball is one of the most popular team ball sports in Northern Europe, particularly among youths. The injury incidence is high, as is the case in other pivoting youth team ball sports, such as football. The injury prevention exercise programme (IPEP) Knee Control is developed to reduce injuries in team ball sports. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity

    Författare :Marius Sommer; Louise Rönnqvist; Charlotte Häger; Nicola Hodges; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Motor timing; rhythmicity; timing training; golf shot; golf swing; kinematics; precision; variability; coordination; movement dynamics; soccer; fMRI; mirror neurons; action observation; cerebellum; perception - action.; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer. 3. 13. Elite sprinters, ice hockey players, orienteers and marathon runners : isokinetic leg muscle performance in relation to muscle structure and training

    Författare :Christer Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Electromyography; endurance; enzyme histocytochemistry; fatigue; ice hockey; isokinetic; muscle contraction; OBLA; orienteering; running;

    Sammanfattning : In male athletes from different sports, isokinetic knee extensor, and in orienteers also plantar flexor peak torque (PT), contractional work (CW) and integrated surface electromyograms (iEMG) were analysed.Single contraction PT, CW and iEMG in sprinters and marathon runners were significantly correlated to the cross-sectional area (CSA) of m. 4. 14. Characterization of New Players in Planar Polarity Establishment in Arabidopsis

    Författare :Stefano Pietra; Markus Grebe; Niko Geldner; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SABRE; planar polarity; CLASP; cell division orientation; microtubule cytoskeleton; actin; AIP1; patterning; Developmental Biology; miljömedicinsk utvecklingsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Coordinated polarity and differentiation of cells in the plane of a tissue layer are essential to the development of multicellular organisms. Arabidopsis thaliana root hairs and trichomes provide model systems to study the pathways that control planar polarity and cell fate specification in plants. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Platelets – Multifaceted players in tumor progression and vascular function

    Författare :Yanyu Zhang; Anna-Karin Olsson; Gertraud Orend; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer; Tumor; Platelet; HRG; PDGFB; TBK1; NETs; Angiogenesis; EMT; Metastasis; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science; Oncology; Onkologi; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär cellbiologi; Biology with specialization in Molecular Cell Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelets play a crucial role for blood hemostasis, the process that prevents bleeding. In addition, platelets have been demonstrated to promote cancer progression and cancer related complications like metastasis and thrombosis. LÄS MER
