    Sammanfattning : Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. Patients who have survived a coronary event are the highest priority for secondary prevention.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of long-lasting upper extremity symptoms in a general population and to study some methodological aspects of outcome assessment and reporting, including validation of a Swedish version of an upper extremity region-specific outcome instrument that potentially could be useful for assessing upper extremity disorders. A general health questionnaire was mailed to 3000 persons, randomly selected from a general population register; response rate 83%. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Background: The main objective of this study was to investigate older people’s physical activity, their participation in various life situations, and their perceptions of their own health. This included an exploration of potential influences of urban versus rural residency on these outcomes, an evaluation of the measurement properties of a balance confidence scale, and an examination of the proposed usefulness of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) as a conceptual framework to facilitate analysis and understanding of selected outcomes.     Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this study is to illuminate the changeover process experienced by individuals who as adults acquired a traumatic brain injury (TBI), to increase the knowledge and the understanding of this process, and describe the meaning of support in every day life.Persons who acquired a TBI as adults were administered a semi-structured interview covering six areas: consequences of TBI, family and social networks, working life and occupation, life-changes, support from society and everyday life.     Sammanfattning : Aims: The overall aim of this research was to increase the knowledge about dystonia by identifying factors that influence self-reported quality of life and health in this disorder and to determine what factors predict disability. A further aim was to develop an objective outcome measure for quantifying the movement dysfunction in cervical dystonia (CD) and evaluate effects of physiotherapy. LÄS MER
