  2. 2. Sea water – shelf sediment interactions: Tracing Neodymium export and water/particle exchange with radiogenic isotopes

    Författare :Per-Olov Persson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Ocean circulation is a key component for the Earth climate system. Driven by wind and density distribution, governed by temperature and salinity, the ocean currents are redistributing heat from low to high latitudes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development of infrared spectroscopy techniques for environmental monitoring

    Författare :Jonas Sandsten; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; environmental pollution measurements; infrared spectrometers; diffraction and scattering; absorption spectroscopy; remote sensing; ray tracing; image processing; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Sandsten;

    Sammanfattning : Infrared spectroscopy techniques have long been utilized in identifying and quantifying species of interest to us. Many of the elementary molecules in the atmosphere interact with infrared radiation through their ability to absorb and emit energy in vibrational and rotational transitions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. MHD Stability and Confinement of Plasmas in a Single Mirror Cell

    Författare :Natalia Savenko; Olov Ågren; Per Helander; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Thermonuclear fusion is a promising energy source for the future. If an economically efficient thermonuclear reactor would be built it has to be a cheap, safe, and highly productive electric power plant, or, a heating plant. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modeling of Pulverised Wood Flames

    Författare :Ashraf Elfasakhany; Strömningsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; applied thermodynamics; Thermal engineering; Energiforskning; Energy research; plasma; combustion; pulverised wood; two-phase flow; devolatilization; emissions; Gases; fluid dynamics; plasmas; fluiddynamik; Gaser; Termisk teknik; termodynamik;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the current work was at development and validation of modeling tools for simulation of pulverised wood flames in furnaces and study how different factors influence on such flames. The numerical model involves different sub-models for the physo-chemical processes, such as, two-phase flow motion, drying, devolatilization and shrinkage of particles, the formation and oxidation of volatile, tar and char, turbulence-chemistry interaction, turbulence-radiation interaction, etc. LÄS MER
