  1. 16. On methods for pattern recognition with application to epileptic electroencephalograms

    Författare :Patrik Wahlberg; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; clustering; EEG signal processing; epilepsy; statistical robustness; feature extraction; signal alignment; denoising; Wiener filtering; time-frequency analysis.; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis treats methods for pattern recognition in multichannel electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, for application to diagnostics of epilepsy. Parts I-IV treat methods for feature extraction and clustering of EEG spikes, occurring between epileptic seizures, and part V presents a method for filtering seizure onset EEG signals. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Pattern recognition for automating condition monitoring of wooden railway sleepers

    Författare :Siril Yella; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :Automatisk inspektion av järnvägsslipers;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to investigate the current state of railway sleeper inspection and proposes automatic testing procedures based on pattern recognition for future inspections concerning the condition of the sleeper. Wooden railway sleeper inspections in Sweden are currently done by hand. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Sensor Systems for Bioprocess Monitoring

    Författare :Helena Lidén; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; on-line; pattern recognition; gas sensor array; electronic nose; monosaccharides; ethanol; biosensor; carbon paste electrode; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Two different detection methods for on-line monitoring of substrates and products in ethanol fermentations have been studied. Amperometric biosensors were developed for use as detectors in flow injection or liquid chromatographic (LC) systems. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : To facilitate early diagnosis of diseases and elucidation of the processes involved in their development and progression, various specific compounds or ‘biomarkers’ are often monitored. The first step is to decide which compounds to analyze. LÄS MER

  5. 20. A Systematic Approach to Integrated Building Performance Assessment and Visualisation

    Författare :Samer Hassanie; Ivo Martinac; Holger Wallbaum; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal comfort; energy consumption; building certifications; occupancy; modeling; presence; pattern recognition; Demand controlled ventilation; Indoor thermal environment; Occupancy; Time response; Energy use; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this project was to develop a holistic approach to building-performance assessment without limiting it to energy use (usually expressed in kWh/m2/year), but rather include more parameters that represent the following aspects: Economic, environmental, and quality of service provided to the occupant/client. If it can be shown that buildings can be operated not only in an energy-efficient way, but also in a way that takes into consideration the needs of the occupants, a case could be built that a higher quality of indoor environment does not necessarily mean a higher economic impact.
