  1. 26. Hand grip strength and postural control among individuals with and without Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease : Epidemiological and motion laboratory studies

    Författare :Viktor Strandkvist; Ulrik Röijezon; Anne Lindberg; Caroline Stridsman; Agneta Larsson; André Nyberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fysioterapi; Physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : BackgroundChronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is estimated to affect approximately 8%–10% of all adults. The disease is considered to be a heterogenic syndrome with systemic effects, in which comorbidities including cardiovascular diseases, muscle dysfunction and fatigue are common. LÄS MER

  2. 27. Towards Reliable and Accurate Global Structure-from-Motion

    Författare :José Pedro Lopes Iglesias; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bundle adjustment; point set registration; camera calibration; global SfM; Structure-from-Motion; radial distortion; 3D reconstruction; non-rigid SfM; pOSE; matrix factorization;

    Sammanfattning : Reconstruction of objects or scenes from sparse point detections across multiple views is one of the most tackled problems in computer vision. Given the coordinates of 2D points tracked in multiple images, the problem consists of estimating the corresponding 3D points and cameras' calibrations (intrinsic and pose), and can be solved by minimizing reprojection errors using bundle adjustment. 3. 28. Towards improving performance and user-friendliness of optical motion capture systems

    Författare :Zlatko Franjcic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Visualization; Photogrammetry; Human-computer interaction; Motion capture;

    Sammanfattning : Measuring the motion of humans, animals or objects is important in various current and future applications. Today, many alternative motion capture systems exist to obtain such measurements. The technological approach to detect motion is often used to classify the systems. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Mind in Motion: The utilization of noise in the cognitive process

    Författare :Robert Pallbo; Data Vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; AI; image processing; spontaneous activity; motion detection; knowledge acquisition; homunculus; evolutionary epistemology; evolution; cognition; noise; neural networks; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The brain is not silent. Even in the absence of stimuli are the neurons activated every now and then in what is called "spontaneous" or "background activity" which provides a noisy background to the operation of the brain. This work shows how this noise can be utilized in the cognitive process. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Eulerian-Lagrangian modeling of particle motion in exhaust gas aftertreatment systems

    Författare :Henrik Ström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; urea-SCR; particle trapping; flow-through filter; urea decomposition; diesel particulate matter; particle motion; particle filter; AdBlue-spray; Eulerian-Lagrangian modeling;

    Sammanfattning : In the work to design and optimize new aftertreatment system devices for NOx reduction and particulate matter removal in lean engine exhaust (such as diesel exhaust), it is of great help to be able to perform quick, robust and reliable computer simulations of system performance. A suitable platform for such simulations is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. LÄS MER
