  1. 16. Playing with Context : Explicit and Implicit Interaction in Mobile Media Applications

    Författare :Maria Håkansson; Lars Erik Holmquist; Oskar Juhlin; Eric Paulos; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :context; human-computer interaction; interaction design; mobile media; play; ubiquitous computing; Man-Machine-Interaction MMI ; människa-maskin-interaktion mmi ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes with insights into how aspects of the surrounding physical and social context can be exploited in the design of mobile media applications for playful use. In this work, context refers to aspects of the immediate surroundings – outside of the device – that can be identified and measured by sensors; for instance environmental aspects like sound, and social aspects like co-located people. 2. 17. Resource allocation for Mobile Edge Clouds

    Författare :Amardeep Mehta; Erik Elmroth; Johan Tordsson; Valeria Cardellini; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mobile Edge Clouds; Edge Fog Computing; IoTs; Distributed Resource Allocation; datalogi; Computer Science; Computer Systems; datorteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Recent advances in Internet technologies have led to the proliferation of new distributed applications in the transportation, healthcare, mining, security, and entertainment sectors. The emerging applications have characteristics such as being bandwidth-hungry, latency-critical, and applications with a user population contained within a limited geographical area, and require high availability, low jitter, and security. Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the development and evaluation of IT-based methods and systems for supporting assessment of symptoms and enabling remote monitoring of Parkinson‟s disease (PD) patients. PD is a common neurological disorder associated with impaired body movements. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Co-Construction of Hybrid Spaces

    Författare :Åsa Rudström; Kristina Höök; Mikael Wiberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HCI; MMI; social computing; mobile computing; co-construction; seamfulness; awareness; hybrid space; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : When computational systems become increasingly mobile and ubiquitous, digital information and the use of computational systems may increasingly be immersed into the physical and social world of objects, people and practices. However, the digital, physical and social materials that make up these hybrid spaces have different characteristics and are hard to understand for users. LÄS MER

  5. 20. An Emulation-Based Performance Evaluation Methodology for Edge Computing and Latency Sensitive Applications
