21. Determining and Optimizing the Current and Magnetic Field Dependence of Spin-Torque and Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators : Toward Next-Generation Nanoelectronic Devices and Systems
Sammanfattning : Spin-torque and spin Hall nano-oscillators are nanoscale devices (about 100 nm) capable of producing tunable broadband high-frequency microwave signals ranging from 0.1 GHz to over 65 GHz that several research groups trying to reach up to 200 - 300 GHz. LÄS MER
22. Silicon Nanoribbon FET Sensors : Fabrication, Surface Modification and Microfluidic Integration
Sammanfattning : Over the past decade, the field of medical diagnostics has seen an incredible amount of research towards the integration of one-dimensional nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes, metallic and semiconducting nanowires and nanoribbons for a variety of bio-applications. Among the mentioned one-dimensional structures, silicon nanoribbon (SiNR) field-effect transistors (FET) as electro-chemical nanosensors hold particular promise for label-free, real-time and sensitive detection of biomolecules using affinity-based detection. 23. Optical properties of novel semiconductor nanostructures
Sammanfattning : Semiconductor nanostructures, such as one-dimensional nanowires (NWs) and zerodimensional quantum dots (QDs), have recently gained increasing interest due to their unique physical properties that are found attractive for a wide variety of applications ranging from gas sensing and spintronics to optoelectronics and photonics. Here, especially promising are nanostructures based on compound semiconductors, including ZnO, GaNP and GaAs/InAs. LÄS MER
24. Protective and Nanoporous Alumina Films Studied in situ by X-ray and Electrochemical Methods
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the studies of native and anodic oxides on both aluminum model single crystal surfaces as well as on aluminum alloys found in applications are presented. The focus has been on the characterization in situ as the oxide is growing by an electrochemical process called anodization. LÄS MER
25. Photothermal antibacterial biomaterials utilising gold nanorods and near-infrared light
Sammanfattning : Biomaterials serve an integral role in modern medicine, providing essential functions for therapeutic, prosthetic, and diagnostic purposes. However, once introduced into a biological setting, biomaterials are prone to bacterial colonisation, resulting in hard-to-treat infections with severe clinical consequences. LÄS MER
