  1. 1. Excitonic Effects and Energy Upconversion in Bulk and Nanostructured ZnO

    Författare :Shula Chen; Irina Buyanova; Weimin Chen; Detlev M. Hofmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Zinc Oxide (ZnO), a II-VI wurtzite semiconductor, has been drawing enormous research interest for decades as an electronic material for numerous applications. It has a wide and direct band gap of 3.37eV and a large exciton binding energy of 60 meV that leads to intense free exciton (FX) emission at room temperature. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Zinc Oxide (ZnO) is an extensively researched II-VI wide bandgap semiconductor material. As a promising material for future optoelectronic and spintronic applications, it continues to attract enormous amount of interest. LÄS MER

  3. 3. MELCOR Capability Development for Simulation of Debris Bed Coolability

    Författare :Yangli Chen; Weimin Ma; Michael Buck; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Severe accident; coolability; MELCOR; COCOMO; surrogate modeling; coupling codes; uncertainty analysis.; Kärnenergiteknik; Nuclear Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The severe accident management (SAM) strategy for a Nordic boiling water reactor (BWR) employs cavity flooding prior to vessel failure, so that the core melt (corium) discharged from the vessel could fragment and form a particulate debris bed. The key to the success of this SAM strategy is the coolability of ex-vessel debris beds. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Spin Properties in InAs/GaAs Quantum Dot based Nanostructures

    Författare :Jan Beyer; Weimin Chen; Irina Buyanova; Hongqi Xu; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) are a promising building block of future spin-functional devices for applications in spintronics and quantum information processing. Essential to the realization of such devices is our ability to create a desired spin orientation of charge carriers (electrons and holes), typically via injection of spin polarized carriers from other parts of the QD structures.
