  1. 26. Daylight compliance of multi-dwelling apartment blocks : Design considerations, evaluation criteria and occupant responses

    Författare :Iason Bournas; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; daylight; electric lighting; policy; regulation compliance; simulation; questionnaire; daylight metrics; perception; brightness; user preferences; urban density; block typology; room geometry; room function; room orientation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the daylight compliance of residential spaces, in particular apartments in multi-dwelling building blocks, and provides knowledge that may prove useful for the development of future daylight criteria for dwellings. The implications of design choices on daylight compliance of spaces and the effect of daylight criteria on the level of compliance are at the core of this work. LÄS MER

  2. 27. Light shapes spaces : experience of distribution of light and visual spatial boundaries

    Författare :Ulrika Wänström Lindh; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Practise-based design research; distribution of light; lighting design; architecture; enclosure; perceived dimensions; atmosphere; light zones; light topography; visual spatial boundaries; Practise-based design research; distribution of light; lighting design; architecture; enclosure; perceived dimensions; atmosphere; light zones; light topography; visual spatial boundaries;

    Sammanfattning : Light enables us to experience space. The distribution of light is vital for spatial experience but has not been the main focus of previous research on lighting. The lighting designer’s professional knowledge is to a great extent experience-based and tacit. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Mature industries have played and still play a crucial role in national and world economies. To survive and retain competitiveness, they need to innovate, as innovation is the driver of economics growth and industrial transformation. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Fluorescence as a biological feedback signal for energy optimising spectra for greenhouse LED-illumination

    Författare :Linnéa Ahlman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fluorescence; Photosynthesis; Automatic control; Greenhouse illumination; LED lighting; Spectrum optimisation;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of LED-lighting for greenhouses has enabled new ways of controlling the light, both spectrum and intensity, to save energy and increase crop production. We have investigated a new method of automatically tuning the spectrum based on biological feedback. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Illumination matters. Revisiting the Roman house in a new light

    Författare :Danilo Marco Campanaro; Digital Arkeologi Laboratoriet DARK Lab; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; House of the Greek Epigrams; Roman domestic space; Pompeii; lighting simulation; lamps; digital archaeology; 3D; virtual reality; eye-tracking; 3D GIS;

    Sammanfattning : Interpreting the social complexity of the Roman house requires a careful evaluation of existing evidence. With this in mind, recent work in the field has proposed a variety of different approaches, focusing each time on a specific type of source (architecture and décor, ancient texts, material evidence from excavated houses), each in turn recursively deemed more adequate for the purpose or more fruitful and less biased.
