    Författare :Aron Lindqvist; Olle Nilsson; Bengt Gerdin; Christer Sollerman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Wood splitter; Wedge splitter; Screw splitter; Consumer product related injury; Agricultural injury; Occupational injury; Hand injury; Child injury; Injury prevention; Vedklyv; Kilklyv; Hydraulklyv; Skruvklyv; Arbetsskada; Handskada; Skada barn; Skadeprevention; Plastic surgery; Plastikkirurgi; Hand surgery; Handkirurgi; Orthopaedics; Ortopedi; Occupational medicine; Yrkesmedicin; Plastic Surgery; Plastikkirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study on hand injury from powered wood splitters was to describe injury epidemiology and anatomy, to rate injury severity, to evaluate the outcome after injury and to describe factors of possible importance for the occurrence of injury.By searching a computerized patient registry, 131 patients injured by wood splitters from 1995 to 2001 were identified. 2. 7. Vibration-induced muscle injury in the hand - experimental and clinical studies

    Författare :Lars Necking; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatologi; Surgery; muscle morphometry; intrinsic hand muscle; muscle strength; muscle injury; hand weakness; Vibration exposure; hand-arm vibration syndrome; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : Exposure to vibration is known to cause vasospastic white fingers and/or sensorineural symtoms such as numbness and tingling in fingers and/or musculoskeletal disorders such as reduction in muscle force, fatigue and reduced endurance. Classifications for the vasospastic and sensorineural symptoms are established. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Clinical and kinematic assessments of upper limb function in persons with post-stroke symptoms

    Författare :Gudrun M Johansson; Charlotte K Häger; Helena Grip; Erika Franzén; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Cross-sectional studies; Arm; Hand; Gait; Outcome assessment; Clinical laboratory techniques;

    Sammanfattning : Stroke is a common and multifaceted disease that often involves motor deficits in the upper limb. This thesis investigated reliability and validity of existing clinical assessments of upper limb function in persons with post-stroke symptoms and in non-disabled controls. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Forced use on arm function after stroke : clinically rated and self-reported outcome and measurement during the sub-acute phase

    Författare :Ann M. Hammer; Birgitta Lindmark; Lotta Widén Holmqvist; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :stroke; upper limb; reliability; validity; ICF; forced use; motor function; effectiveness; rehabilitation; physiotherapy; grip force; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of forced use on arm and hand recovery after stroke by applying a restraining sling on the non-affected arm and to investigate psychometric properties of selected upper limb measures.Papers I and II reported a randomised trial with 1- and 3-month follow-ups. 5. 10. Health effects from occupational hand-arm vibration

    Författare :Per Vihlborg; Pål Graff; Sverre Wikström; Karim Makdoumi; Magnus Svartengren; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hand-arm vibration; Raynaud’s phenomenon; vibration white finger; carpal tunnel syndrome; acute vibration exposure; neuropathy;

    Sammanfattning : Hand-arm vibration (HAV) is a common occupational exposure in Sweden and worldwide that causes both acute transient effects and persistent hand-arm symptoms. The health effects include vibration-induced Raynaud’s phenomenon, neuropathic symptoms, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), and musculoskeletal disorders. LÄS MER
