  1. 1. Vibration-induced neuropathy in the hand

    Författare :Trygve Strömberg; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatology; orthopaedics; Surgery; vibrotactile sense.; vibration; Schwann cells; Raynaud’s phenomenon; peripheral neuropathy; pathology; neurone; nerve fibres; muscular weakness; hand; Carpal tunnel syndrome; cold intolerance; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to investigate clinical, pathophysiological and structural aspects of vibration-induced peripheral neuropathy since work with hand-held vibrating tools may lead to progressive neurological and vascular hand symptoms. Symptomatic vibration-exposed men were examined clinically and by neurography, tactilometry, and vibrometry and by measurement of temperature perception thresholds. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vibration-induced muscle injury in the hand - experimental and clinical studies

    Författare :Lars Necking; Malmö Handkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatologi; Surgery; muscle morphometry; intrinsic hand muscle; muscle strength; muscle injury; hand weakness; Vibration exposure; hand-arm vibration syndrome; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : Exposure to vibration is known to cause vasospastic white fingers and/or sensorineural symtoms such as numbness and tingling in fingers and/or musculoskeletal disorders such as reduction in muscle force, fatigue and reduced endurance. Classifications for the vasospastic and sensorineural symptoms are established. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Hand-arm vibration and working women : Consequences and affecting factors

    Författare :Sonya H Bylund; Lage Burström; Anders Knutsson; Eva Vingård; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Public health; HAV; vibration; women; injuries; power absorption; handle; gender; Folkhälsomedicin; Public health medicine research areas; Folkhälsomedicinska forskningsområden; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The use of hand-held vibrating tools may lead to hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), a condition with vascular, neurological and musculoskeletal symptoms. Vibrating tools are used in several occupations in which women can be found, e.g. by metal- and wood workers, drivers, and dental personnel. LÄS MER
