  1. 11. Early Immunostimulatory Effects of IgE- and IgG Antibodies

    Författare :Fredrik Hjelm; Birgitta Heyman; Sandra Kleinau; Robert Harris; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Immunology; Antibodies; Fc receptors; Antigen presentation; B cells; T cells; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Antibodies have the ability to influence their own production in a process called antibody feedback regulation. Depending on the type of antigen and the subclass of the antibody, the outcome of feedback regulation can be complete suppression or several hundred-fold enhancement of the antibody response. 2. 12. Antibody Feedback Regulation : From Epitope Masking to T Helper Cell Activation

    Författare :Andrew Getahun; Birgitta Heyman; Hans-Gustaf Ljunggren; Daniel Conrad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; Immune regulation; B cells; T cells; Antibodies; Fc Receptors; Antigen presentation; Transgenic Knockout Mice; Immunologi; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Antibodies have the ability to influence the antibody response against the very antigen they are specific for, in a process called antibody feedback regulation. Depending on the nature of the antigen, the antibody response can be either enhanced or almost completely inhibited. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Immunoglobulin-binding bacterial surface proteins; biomedical tools and virulence factors

    Författare :Britt-Marie Kihlberg; Infektionsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Phagocytosis; M-like protein; M protein; Protein L; Protein G; Ig-binding; Streptococcus pyogenes; Fc Receptors; mykologi; virologi; bakteriologi; Mikrobiologi; mycology; virology; bacteriology; Microbiology; Cysteine proteinase; Streptolysin;

    Sammanfattning : Many bacteria express immunoglobulin(Ig)-binding proteins that interact with Ig in a non-immune manner. Several of these Ig-binding bacterial proteins have been well characterized and are widely used as reagents for analysis and purification of Ig's. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Fcγ-receptors in systemic autoimmune conditions : lessons from murine mercury-induced autoimmunity

    Författare :Klara Martinsson; Per Hultman; Karin Cederbrant; Johan Rönnelid; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we investigated the role of activating (FcγRI, FcγRIII) and inhibitory (FcγRIIB) Fcγ-receptors on systemic autoimmunity using two mouse strains, DBA/1 (H-2q) and BALB/c mice (H-2d), susceptible to induction of autoimmunity by mercury (Hg).Fc-receptors for IgG (FcγR) link cellular and humoral immune responses, control the balance between activating and inhibitory immune responses and are important in the development of several autoimmune diseases. 5. 15. B cells in Autoimmunity : Studies of Complement Receptor 1 & 2 and FcγRIIb in Autoimmune Arthritis

    Författare :Kajsa Prokopec; Sandra Kleinau; Anna Erdei; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; complement receptors; fc gamma receptor IIb; autoimmune arthritis; rheumatoid arthritis; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : B cells are normally regulated to prevent activation against self-proteins through tolerance mechanisms.  However, occasionally there is a break in tolerance and B cells can become self-reactive, which might lead to the development of autoimmune disease. LÄS MER
