21. Partitioned Scheduling of Real-Time Tasks on Multi-core Platforms
Sammanfattning : In recent years multiprocessor architectures have become mainstream, and multi-core processors are found in products ranging from small portable cell phones to large computer servers. In parallel, research on real-time systems has mainly focused on traditional single-core processors. LÄS MER
22. Durability of fire exposed concrete : Experimental Studies Focusing on Stiffness & Transport Properties
Sammanfattning : Road and rail tunnels are important parts of the modern infrastructure. High strength concrete (HSC) is commonly used for tunnels and other civil engineering structures, since it allows high load carrying capacity and long service life. In general, Swedish road and rail tunnels should be designed for a service life of 120 years. LÄS MER
23. Geophysical Applications of Vegetation Modeling
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development and selected applications of a global vegetation model, BIOME4. The model is applied to problems in high-latitude vegetation distribution and climate, trace gas production, and isotope biogeochemistry. LÄS MER
24. Seismic-Reflection and Seismic-Refraction Imaging of the South Portuguese Zone Fold-and-Thrust Belt
Sammanfattning : The South Portuguese Zone (SPZ), which host world-class massive sulphide deposits, forms the southern fold-and-thrust belt of the Iberian Variscan orogeny. This thesis focuses on seismic-reflection and seismic-refraction processing efforts on a subset of the IBERSEIS deep seismic-reflection data set aiming at resolving the SPZ upper crust in high resolution. 25. Polyethylene – metal oxide particle nanocomposites for future HVDC cable insulation : From interface tailoring to designed performance
Sammanfattning : Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) nanocomposites containing metal oxide nanoparticles are considered as promising candidates for insulating materials in future high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) cables. The significant improvement in dielectric properties compared with unfilled polymer is attributed to the large and active interface between the nanoparticles and the polymer. LÄS MER
