21. The need of condition monitoring to support simulations when predicting system availability of Functional Products
Sammanfattning : Today, competition among product manufacturers has increased and many facebeing copied and thus losing their uniqueness. To differentiate on the market, new businesses, which extend the manufacturer’s responsibility throughsupporting and guaranteeing product performance, thus offering more value-creating activities, have received increasing interest. 22. Data-driven methods for real-time voltage stability assessment
Sammanfattning : Voltage instability is a phenomenon that limits the operation and the transmission capacity of a power system. An operation state close to the security limits enables a cost-effective utilization of the system but it could also make the system more vulnerable to disturbances. LÄS MER
23. Solubility and polymorphism of molecular compounds
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the controlled crystallization of small organic molecules and is focused on solubility and polymorphism. The solubility was determined for phenylacetic acid, p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid, p-aminophenylacetic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and ibuprofen in both water and in a range of organic solvents. 24. Ultrasound and molecular biomarkers for prediction of preterm delivery in different risk groups of singleton pregnancies
Sammanfattning : Ultrasound and molecular biomarkers for prediction of preterm delivery in women with a singleton pregnancy Tove Wikström Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Institute of Clinical Sciences Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg Gothenburg, Sweden Background: Preterm delivery (PTD) is the leading cause of death in children under five years of age. Spontaneous PTD (sPTD) might be partly preventable by treating asymptomatic women having a short cervical length (CL) with vaginal progesterone. LÄS MER
25. Psychosocial consequences of false-positive mammography among women attending breast cancer screening. Assessment, prediction, and coping
Sammanfattning : One side-effect of breast cancer (BC) screening is a false-positive mammogram among healthy women. That is, finding(s) on a screening mammogram that lead to additional breast examinations but where the woman is eventually considered free from BC. There is evidence of short-term psychosocial consequences of false-positive BC screening. LÄS MER
