21. Submerged Landscapes in the Hanö Bay : Early Holocene shoreline displacement and human environments in the southern Baltic Basin
Sammanfattning : During times of lower global sea level, vast areas of the coastal shelf were exposed and converted into ecologically diverse coastal landscapes that wereattractive for human occupation. The landscapes were subsequently flooded during the deglaciation, but well-preserved remains of these landscapes andtheir inhabitants can today be found on the seafloor. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate and deduce the varied lifeways of Early Holocene foragers in southern Scandinavia. By taking an interdisciplinary approach, zooarchaeological data have been applied to the study of different aspects of Early and Middle Mesolithic subsistence, in order to frame a discussion concerning our current understanding of culture and life in early north European societies. Sammanfattning : The thesis discusses the social, economic and ideological setting in which megalithic tombs were produced in western Sweden c. 4700-4500 BP. In this period, some 80 tombs were built in Bohuslän and more than 250 in Falbygden in Västergötland, while no tombs were built in other areas of western Sweden. LÄS MER
