  1. 6. Type 2 myocardial infarction : Aspects of diagnosis, prognosis and treatment

    Författare :Anton Gard; Bertil Lindahl; Tomasz Baron; Hans Mickley; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Myocardial infarction; type 2 myocardial infarction; myocardial injury; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Unlike the coronary thromboembolic type 1 myocardial infarction (MI), a type 2 MI occurs secondary to other conditions causing an imbalance in myocardial oxygen supply and demand. Type 2 MI is associated with high mortality and evidence based treatment is lacking. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Chronic myeloid leukemia and cancer

    Författare :Niklas Gunnarsson; Anders Själander; Martin Höglund; Bertil Lindahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic myeloid leukemia; Prevalence; Malignancies; Odds ratio; Standardized Incidence Ratio; Outcome; Autoimmune diseases; Survival; Epidemiology; epidemiologi; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a relatively rare hematological malignancy with a constant incidence of approximately 90 new cases each year in Sweden (0.9 cases/100 000 inhabitants). The etiology is largely unknown but high doses of ionizing radiation are a known but rare risk factor. LÄS MER

  3. 8. From Stenting to Preventing : Invasive and Long-term Treatment for Coronary Artery Disease in Sweden

    Författare :Kristina Hambræus; Bertil Lindahl; Bo Lagerqvist; Eva Prescott; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Coronary artery disease; guideline adherence; prevention; cholesterol treatment; lifestyle; percutaneous coronary intervention; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. Treatment with coronary interventions, long-term treatment and life style changes can reduce symptoms and improve prognosis. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Coronary Heart Disease and Early Decision Making, from Symptoms to Seeking Care : Studies with Focus on Pre-hospital Delay in Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients

    Författare :Catrin Henriksson; Bertil Lindahl; Margareta Larsson; Anna Strömberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Acute Myocardial Infarction; Pre-Hospital Delay; Knowledge; Attitudes; Decision Making; Quality of Life; Re-admission; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Despite several investigations and interventions aimed at decreasing the time from symptom onset to medical care seeking in acute myocardial infarction patients, the delay time is still too long for best treatment outcomes. In this thesis, investigations aimed at improving our understanding of the factors influencing delay time are evaluated, as well as attitudes to medical care seeking in patients, relatives and the general public. 5. 10. Identification of pathophysiological and prognostic biomarkers in different types of myocardial infarction

    Författare :Marcus Hjort; Bertil Lindahl; Kai M. Eggers; Helge Rørvik Røsjø; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; myocardial infarction; biomarker; pathophysiology; prognosis; MINOCA; STEMI; NSTEMI; hjärtinfarkt; biomarkör; patofysiologi; prognos; MINOCA; STEMI; NSTEMI; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The pathophysiological mechanisms of myocardial infarction (MI) with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) are largely unknown. Analogous, differences in pathobiology between ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) are incompletely understood. LÄS MER
