16. Surface Modification of Nanocellulose towards Composite Applications
Sammanfattning : Nanocelluloses have attracted great interest during recent decades owing to their renewability, abundancy and remarkable physical and mechanical properties. The aim of this work was to investigate new strategies for surface modification and functionalization of nanocelluloses and their subsequent incorporation in polymer-host matrices. LÄS MER
17. Nanocelluloses - surface modification and use in functional materials
Sammanfattning : Cellulose nanocomposites offer interesting potential in terms of improved properties and new functionalities compared with microcomposites. Preparation from colloidal suspensions is promising, since high reinforcement content is possible and a wide range of constituents can be used. LÄS MER
18. The creation of antibacterial fibres through physical adsorption of polyelectrolytes
Sammanfattning : Contact-active antibacterial surfaces with irreversibly attached antibacterial com-pounds are a sustainable alternative to traditional biocides. No chemicals are released into nature and the antibacterial mechanism reduces the risk of the evolution of re-sistant bacteria. LÄS MER
19. Exploring crosslinked networks of polymers and hybrid cellulose materials
Sammanfattning : The field of polymer chemistry has in recent decades had an immense development, resulting in new functional materials with groundbreaking applications. This has been driven partly by strong interdisciplinary alliances between the fields of medicine, biology, chemistry, and materials science. LÄS MER
20. Amphiphilic Polymers as Additives in Biomedical Polyurethanes. Surface Properties and Morphology
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to achieve surface modification of two biomedical polyurethanes and one poly(urethane urea) through the addition of small amounts of amphiphilic copolymers in solution. The matrix polymers used were the poly(ether urethane)s Pellethane 2363-80AE (P80) and 2363-75D (P75) and a poly(ether urethane urea) similar to Biomer (PUUR). LÄS MER
