  1. 21. On Phase Behaviours in Lipid/Polymer/Solvent/Water Systems and their Application for Formation of Lipid/Polymer Composite Particles

    Författare :Anna Imberg; Per Hansson; Krister Thuresson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Biodegradable; CLSM; Composite Particles; Controlled Release; Cubic Phases; Drug Delivery; Flory-Huggins Theory; FT-PGSE-NMR; IPMS; Liquid Phase; Lipid Domains; Liquid Handler; Microspheres; Microstructure; Phase Behaviour; Phase Separation; Polymer Matrix; SAXS; Segregation; Sponge Phase; Swelling; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; fysikalisk och oorganisk farmaceutisk kemi; Physical and Inorganic Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : A new kind of lipid/polymer composite particle, consisting of a biodegradable polymer matrix with well-defined lipid domains, has been created. The lipid used is the water-swelling lipid monoolein (MO), which forms a reversed bicontinuous cubic diamond structure in aqueous solutions. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Immobilized stationary phases for capillary gas chromatography

    Författare :Jan Buijten; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Capillary gas chromatography columns coated with silicone gums as stationary phases proved to have a higher thermal stability than columns coated with silicone oils. The temperature stability of a stationary phase film can, however, be further increased when the phase is, in situ, immobilized either by polymerization of the silicone or by freeradical cross-linking. 3. 23. Polymer effects on microemulsions and lamellar phases

    Författare :Håkan Bagger-Jörgensen; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Poisson-Boltzmann equation; hard sphere; osmometry; small angle scattering; phase behaviour; hydrophobically modified polyelectrolyte; hydrophobically modified polymer; nonionic surfactant; microemulsion; lamellar phase; undulation force; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The main part of this thesis deals with the effects of adsorbing and non-adsorbing polymers when mixed with microemulsion droplets and bilayers in a lamellar phase. The phase behaviour, microstructure and interactions in a nonionic surfactant/ water/ oil-system, comprising penta ethylene oxide dodecyl ether (C12E5) and decane, was investigated. LÄS MER

  4. 24. FACING THE CHALLENGE OF SKIN PENETRATION - A STUDY ON LIPIDIC LIQUID CRYSTALLINE PHASES FOR DERMAL DRUG DELIVERY

    Författare :Hanne Evenbratt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 5-diol; liquid crystalline phases; N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone; pentane-1; glyceryl monooleat; propylene glycol; dermal drug delivery; glyceryl monooleyl ether; cubic phase; reversed hexagonal phase;

    Sammanfattning : The skin is a barrier which protects us against daily attacks of foreign substances. From a pharmaceutical perspective it is also an interesting delivery route with its large surface and possibility to reach the blood stream circumventing first passage metabolism. With the varied size, structure etc. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Stabilization-solidification of high water content dredged sediment : Strength, compressibility and durability evaluations

    Författare :Gregory Makusa; Kauko Kujala; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Dredging activities at ports and harbors are inevitable for safe navigation of ships and vessels. The outcomes of dredging are huge volumes of dredged materials, which can range from very fine and contaminated sediments to sands and gravels. The coarse sands and gravels can be directly used in civil engineering applications. LÄS MER
