  1. 1. Information Needs for Water Resource and Risk Management : Hydro-Meteorological Data Value and Non-Traditional Information

    Författare :Marc Girons Lopez; Jan Seibert; Sven Halldin; Thomas Grabs; Giuliano Di Baldassarre; Elena Toth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; water management; data resolution; non-traditional data; floods; modelling; social memory; precipitation; runoff; social media; interpolation; data value; gestió de l’aigua; resolució de les dades; dades no tradicionals; inundacions; modelització; memòria social; precipitació; escorrentia; xarxes socials; interpolació; valor de les dades; avrinning; befolkningars minne; dataupplösning; datavärde; interpolering; mjuk information; modellering; nederbörd; sociala medier; vattenförvaltning; översvämning; gestión del agua; resolución de los datos; datos no tradicionales; inundaciones; modelización; memoria social; precipitación; escorrentía; redes sociales; interpolación; valor de los datos; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Data availability is extremely important for water management. Without data it would not be possible to know how much water is available or how often extreme events are likely to occur. The usually available hydro-meteorological data often have a limited representativeness and are affected by errors and uncertainties. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Time-resolved Structural and Mechanistic Studies of Water Oxidation in Photosystem II : water here, water there, water everywhere

    Författare :Casper de Lichtenberg; Johannes Messinger; Wolfgang P. Schröder; Holger Dau; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Oxygenic Photosynthesis; Photosystem II; TR-MIMS; isotope exchange; EPR; EDNMR; water splitting; water oxidation;

    Sammanfattning : Oxygenic photosynthesis is undisputedly one of the most important chemical processes for human life on earth as it not only fills the atmosphere with the oxygen that we need to breathe, but also sustains the accumulation of biomass, which is not only used as nourishment but is also present in almost every aspect of our lives as building material, textiles in clothes and furniture, or even as living decorations to name a few.The photosynthetic water-splitting mechanism is catalyzed by a water:plastoquinone oxido-reductase by the name of photosystem II (PSII), which is embedded in the thylakoid membranes of plants, algae and cyanobacteria. 3. 3. Information, systems and water management : Information systems which support water management - cases from rural water supply in Uganda and WFD implementation in the North Baltic River Basin District, Sweden

    Författare :Andrew Quin; Berit Balfors; Jos G. Timmerman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; information support; actors; water management; organisational action; Soft Systems Methodology;

    Sammanfattning : Successfulwater management implies tackling multi-level governance and improvingintegration between sectors. Sound information and related processes will berequired to support water management decision-making at these various levels. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Risk Assessment and Decision Support for Managing Drinking Water Systems

    Författare :Andreas Lindhe; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; drinking water; risk assessment; decision analysis; water safety plan; water supply; multi-criteria decision analysis; dynamic fault tree analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The vital importance of a reliable and safe drinking water supply makes efficient risk management necessary for water utilities. Risks must be assessed and possible risk-reduction measures evaluated to provide relevant decision support. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Integrated and Probabilistic Risk Analysis of Drinking Water Systems

    Författare :Andreas Lindhe; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; water safety plan; customer minutes lost; probabilistic; fault tree analysis; risk analysis; risk; integrated; drinking water system; hazard; uncertainty;

    Sammanfattning : Drinking water supply is an essential public function but is at the same time exposed to risks. Since a totally risk-free society is not attainable, risks need to be managed efficiently to achieve an acceptable level of risk. LÄS MER
