  1. 1. The Serotonin Transporter and the Vesicular Monoamine Transporters During Development

    Författare :Stefan R Hansson; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; whiskers; lateral geniculate; infraorbital nerve; neural crest; merkel; somatosensory cortex; Key wordscitalopram; thalamus; visual cortex; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : In the present study, the mRNA encoding the serotonin transporter (5-HTT) and two isoforms of the vesicular monoamine transporters (VMAT1 and VMAT2) have been mapped in the rat throughout gestation and early postnatal development using in situ hybridization, RT PCR and immunohistochemistry. 5-HTT mRNA was found in serotonergic neurons and VMAT2 mRNA in all monoaminergic neurons from early gestation. 2. 2. Somatosensory Circuits in the Central Nervous System

    Författare :Hannah M. Weman; Malin C. Lagerström; Sarah E. Ross; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Glycine receptor alpha 3; urocortin 3; vesicular monoaminergic transporter 2; nociception; pruriception; spinal cord; somatosensory cortex; DREADD; rabies tracing; transcriptomics; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Spinal glycinergic neurons prevent spontaneous sensations of pain and itch, and development of persistent pain and itch conditions. The glycine receptor alpha 3 subunit (GLRA3) is suggested to be involved in certain inflammatory models, but not in acute nociception. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modulation of Neuronal Functions : the Role of SLC10A4

    Författare :Kalicharan Patra; Klas Kullander; Håkan Aldskogius; Per Svenningsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dopamine; acetylcholine; central nervous system; neuromuscular junctions; electrophysiology; monoamine; synaptic transmission; neuromodulation; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Mental health of a person depends on the correct functioning of the brain. The brain and the spinal cord contain many types of cells, of which one important type are called the neurons. Neurons are special in the way they connect to each other to form large networks. LÄS MER
