  1. 1. Pharmacogenetic analysis in sickness and in health - for better or for worse

    Författare :Mia Wadelius; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Pharmacogenetics; NAT2; CYP2D6; CYP2C19; CYP17; GSTP1; sulphasalazine; agranulocytosis; prostate cancer; pregnancy; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; klinisk farmakologi; Clinical Pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : An individual's pharmacogenetic constitution may predict response to drugs, hormones and toxins, and might be a susceptibility factor for disease. Pharmacogenetic diversity is especially pronounced for drug metabolising enzymes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Studies on albumin binding properties in pregnancy and early infancy : with special reference to maternal sulphasalazine treatment

    Författare :Elisabeth Esbjörner; Ulf Broberger; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Sulphasalazine (SASP) has been avoided during the later part of pregnancy and during breast-feeding as some sulphonamides possess the ability to displace bilirubin from albumin and thus increase the risk of bilirubin-induced brain damage in jaundiced neonates. However, withdrawal of SASP in a woman with ulcerative colitis would mean a cqnsiderable risk of relapse of her disease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. SLE : pathogenetic mechanisms in nephritis and sulphasalazine-induced lupus reactions

    Författare :Iva Gunnarsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :systemic lupus erythematosus; IgA nephropathy; rheumatoid arthritis; anti-C1q antibodies; nephritis; C1q; IL-10; drug-induced; sulphasalazine;

    Sammanfattning : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease with a multifactorial and largely unknown etiology, in which genetic and environmental factors are known to influence disease susceptibility and expression. Nephritis is a common and severe disease manifestation in which immune complexes and complement deposits in the renal tissue are invariably seen. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Inflammation in ankylosing spondylitis : a study of inflammatory and immunological processes with special reference to the influence of sulphasalazine treatment
