  1. 1. Individual Information Adaptation Based on Content Description

    Författare :Erik Oskar Wallin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :metadata; semantic web; personalization; information adaptation; one-to-one marketing; evaluation; optimization; personification; customization; individualization; internet; content filtering; automation;

    Sammanfattning : Today’s increasing information supply raises the needfor more effective and automated information processing whereindividual information adaptation (personalization) is onepossible solution. Earlier computer systems for personalizationlacked the ability to easily define and measure theeffectiveness of personalization efforts. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Quo vadis? Insights into the determinants of evolutionary dynamics

    Författare :Alexandre Rêgo; Rike Stelkens; Dmitri Petrov; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; natural selection; selection; genetic drift; evolutionary rescue; historical contingency; adaptation; complex environments; evolutionary predictability; parallel evolution; populationsgenetik; Population Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : Predicting future evolutionary outcomes and explaining past and current patterns of biodiversity are fundamental goals in evolutionary biology. Trajectories of evolving populations are determined by evolutionary mechanisms (natural selection, mutation, genetic drift, and gene flow) and the environment in which the populations are found. 3. 3. Context reasoning, context prediction and proactive adaptation in pervasive computing systems

    Författare :Andrey Boytsov; Christian Becker; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distribuerade datorsystem; Mobile and Pervasive Computing;

    Sammanfattning : The paradigm of pervasive computing aims to integrate the computing technologies in a graceful and transparent manner, and make computing solutions available anywhere and at any time. Different aspects of pervasive computing, like smart homes, smart offices, social networks, micromarketing applications, PDAs, etc. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Essays on Field Experiments and Impact Evaluation

    Författare :Remidius Denis Ruhinduka; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; adaptation to climate change; ambiguity; artefactual field experiment; behavioraleconomics; charcoal; credit; deforestation; endogenous switching regression; field experiment; guilt; honesty; impact evaluation; kindness; liquidity constraint; LPG stoves; rice marketing; risk preferences; system of rice intensification; Tanzania; time preferences;

    Sammanfattning : Paper 1: Improving Welfare Through Climate-Friendly Agriculture: The Case of the System of Rice Intensification We use rich survey data to investigate the economic impact of a climate-friendly rice farming method known as the system of rice intensification (SRI) on the welfare of rain-dependent small-holder farmers in Tanzania. SRI reduces water consumption by half, which makes it a promising farming system in the adaptation to climate change in moisture constrained areas, and it does not require flooding of rice fields, resulting in reduced methane emissions. 5. 5. Projectification : The Trojan horse of local government

    Författare :Mats Fred; Stig Montin; Statsvetenskapliga institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Projektifiering; kommuner; institutional logic; översättning; action net; Projectification; local goverment; institutional logic; translation; action net; projectification;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to conceptualize local government projectification by answering the questions of how projectification is manifested in practice, and what the consequences of the project logic are for local government organizations and their employees. An institutional ethnography is conducted in the Swedish municipality of Eslöv and its organizational and institutional surroundings. LÄS MER
