21. Spray Processes in Optical Diesel Engines - Air-Entrainement and Emissions
Sammanfattning : Internal combustion engines have been an important technological field for more than a century. It has had an important impact on society through improved transportation and industrial applications. LÄS MER
22. Modelling and Experimental Investigations on Thermal Radiation in Combustion Environments
Sammanfattning : Thermal radiation is an important physical phenomenon in combustion environments. For the understanding of existing- and the design of new combustion environments computational modelling is a useful tool as it can describe the different transport phenomena. LÄS MER
23. X-Ray Diagnostics in Combustion - Study of Particle Formation in Flames Using Combined Small- and Wide-Angle X-Ray Scattering
Sammanfattning : In the thesis work, two X-ray scattering techniques, small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS) were combined to study particle formation in-situ and non-intrusively in ethylene laboratory flames. Combining these two techniques enabled information concerning the size and concentration as well as the subnanometer structure of the nanoparticles within the 1–100 nm range there to be obtained. 24. Towards sustainable heavy-duty transportation : Combustion and emissions using renewable fuels in a compression ignition engine
Sammanfattning : Transportation should become sustainable and available to everyone. Currently, transportation accounts for approx. one sixth of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions globally, and heavy-duty trucks are responsible for almost 30% of that. LÄS MER
25. OH and Soot Optical Diagnostics for Combustion Applications for Combustion Applications
Sammanfattning : Optical diagnostics are remote non-intrusive sensing techniques. The thesis work concerns the use of OH and soot optical diagnostics for combustion research.Internal combustion (IC) engines are widely used for the generation of power and for transportation purposes. LÄS MER
