26. Evaluation of bus priority strategiesin coordinated traffic signal systems
Sammanfattning : Increasing congestion and environmental concerns have evoked an interest in promoting urban Public Transport (PT) the last decades. In 2012 the City of Stockholm adopted an “Urban mobility strategy” stating that public transport, cycling and walking should be prioritised over cars in central Stockholm. LÄS MER
27. The choreography of protein vibrations : Improved methods of observing and simulating the infrared absorption of proteins
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis has striven toward improving the capability to study proteins using infrared (IR) spectroscopy. This includes development of new and improved experimental and theoretical methods to selectively observe and simulate protein vibrations. LÄS MER
28. Multi-Disciplinary Conceptual Design of Future Jet Engine Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes various aspects of the development of a multi-disciplinary aero engine conceptual design tool, TERA2020 (Techno-economic, Environmental and Risk Assessment for 2020), based on an explicit algorithm that considers: engine performance, engine aerodynamic and mechanical design, aircraft design and performance, emissions prediction and environmental impact, engine and airframe noise, and production, maintenance and direct operating costs. As part of this research effort, a newly-derived semi-empirical NOx correlation for modern rich-burn single-annular combustors is proposed. 29. Tin-based Glasses: Structure and Electrochemical Properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents an investigation of microscopic structure and electrochemical properties, and their relationship, for various tin-based borate, phosphate and borophosphate glasses. Tin-based glasses have attracted a lot of scientific interest as anode materials in Li-ion batteries. LÄS MER
30. Physically based models of metal plasticity
Sammanfattning : This work is focussing on the material modelling aspects in simulation of forming processes. The research question is: Do physical based material models have any advantages compared to the more common type of engineering models used in simulation of forming processes? The success of performing useful simulations of forming processes depends very much on the accuracy of the used material description. LÄS MER
