31. Molecular studies of the humoral immune response in Hyalophora cecropia : structure, function and transcriptional regulation of three classes of immunoresponsive genes
Sammanfattning : Insects have an efficient humoral immune system, an important part of which is constituted by the antibacterial proteins, produced upon bacterial infection or wounding. In this thesis, the molecular mechanism of this immune response was investigated in the giant silkmoth Hyalophora cecropia, where a set of bacteriainducible proteins (immune proteins) had previously been characterized. 32. Rewriting Entrepreneurship : Enterprise discourse and entrepreneurship in the case of re-organising ES
Sammanfattning : People at the formal organisation of ES were written as they tried to write a new script describing how the organising of their operations should become conducted. A project of re-organising the operations was initiated in a way rather typical for the 1990s: services were bought from a consulting agency, and the agency brought their tools for making ES into a proper company. 33. Tolerance and antagonism to allopregnanolone effects in the rat CNS
Sammanfattning : Many studies have suggested a relationship between sex steroids and negative mental and mood changes in women. Allopregnanolone, a potent endogenous ligand of the GABA-A receptor and a metabolite of progesterone, is one of the most accused neuroactive steroids. LÄS MER
34. A European State of Mind : Rhetorical Formations of European Identity within the EU 1973–2014
Sammanfattning : European identity has become a central issue in the EU’s political imaginary. In recent years, European identity—and related notions of a European destiny, European culture, and a European narrative—has been deployed as a weapon against the rise of the political far-right across Europe. 35. Functional studies on the orphan receptor Nurr1 and related retinoid receptors
Sammanfattning : Nuclear receptors (NRs) constitute a large family of ligand-inducible transcription factors which includes receptors for steroid hormones, retinoids (vitamin A derivatives), vitamin D an d thyroid hormone. The family also includes a large number of structurally related proteins that lack identified ligands and are therefore refered to as orphan receptors. LÄS MER
