  1. 6. Stroke in geriatric patients - Aspects of depression, cognition and motor activity

    Författare :Berit Agrell; Geriatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stroke; laterality; rating scales; motoractivity; aphasia; neglect; disability; depression; cognition; Neurology; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Six depression rating scales, GDS, Zung, CES-D, CPRS-D and Cornell, were compared in 40 patients. The validity was good for all scales except for the Cornell scale. A comprehensive investigation was done in 116 elderly stroke patients. There was no difference in prevalence and severity of post-stroke depression in relation to side of lesion. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Some properties of measures of disagreement and disorder in paired ordinal data

    Författare :Hans Högberg; Elisabeth Svensson; Sture Holm; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; agreement; augmented ranks; categorical data; disorder; jackknife; paired ordinal data; rating scales; sample size; sampling distribution; simulation; U-statistics; variance; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; Statistics; Statistik; Statistics; Statistik;

    Sammanfattning : The measures studied in this thesis were a measure of disorder, D, and a measure of the individual part of the disagreement, the measure of relative rank variance, RV, proposed by Svensson in 1993. The measure of disorder is a useful measure of order consistency in paired assessments of scales with a different number of possible values. LÄS MER

  4. 9. JIA (juvenile idiopathic arthritis) in the Nordic countries. Aspects of classification, epidemiology and pain assessment

    Författare :Lillemor Berntson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Arthritis; juvenile; rheumatoid; juvenile chronic arthritis; classification; heredity epidemiology; incidence; pain assessment; rating scales; VAS; ordinal data;

    Sammanfattning : Different classification criteria for chronic arthritis in childhood have been used in different parts of the world, which has made comparison between studies difficult. In 1995, a new set of classification criteria was proposed by the ILAR (International League of Associations for Rheumatism) to overcome such difficulties and to create more homogenous subgroups. 5. 10. Conceptualizing and Measuring Well-Being Using Statistical Semantics and Numerical Rating Scales

    Författare :Oscar Kjell; Institutionen för psykologi; []

    Sammanfattning : How to define and measure individuals’ well-being is important, as this has an impact on both research and society at large. This thesis concerns how to define and measure the self-reported well-being of individuals, which involves both theorizing as well as developing and applying empirical and statistical methods in order to gain a better understanding of well-being.
