1. Orthopaedic measurements with computed radiography. Methodological development, accuracy, and radiation dose with special reference to the weight-bearing lower extremity and the dislocating patella
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a measurement system for computed radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), permitting measurements of long distances and angles in and between related images. The developed measurement system, which was based on the QUESTOR Precision Radiography (QPR) system, was applied to the weight-bearing knee with special reference to the dislocating patella. LÄS MER
2. Fractures of the distal radius : radiological measurements and clinical outcome
Sammanfattning : The most common fracture is the distal radius fracture (DRF). Wrist function is of importance for the ability to perform activities of daily living, work-related tasks and leisure activities. Treatment generally focuses on restoring anatomical alignment and providing adequate rehabilitation. LÄS MER
3. Leg length discrepancy and femoral offset after total hip arthroplasty : clinical and radiological studies
Sammanfattning : Every year, about 1 million patients worldwide and 16000 patients in Sweden undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA). This surgical intervention is considered a successful, safe and cost-effective procedure to regain pain-free mobility and restore hip joint function in patients suffering from severe hip joint disease or trauma. 4. Radiological measurements in total hip arthroplasty
Sammanfattning : Every year, about 1 million patients worldwide and 20000 patients in Sweden undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA). This type of operation is considered a successful, safe and cost-effective procedure to regain mobility and restore hip joint function in patients suffering from severe hip joint disease or trauma. 5. Whiplash injury : a clinical, radiographic and psychological investigation
Sammanfattning : Whiplash injury is a common and troublesome disorder and approximately 10-40 per cent of its victims develop chronic symptoms. The annual incidence is estimated at 1/1000 inhabitants and the prevalence at 1%. The cause of chronic symptoms after whiplash injury is still unknown and no effective treatment has been presented so far. LÄS MER
