  1. 1. Conventional spiral and low-dose computed mandibular tomography for dental implant planning

    Författare :Annika Ekestubbe; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Artifacts; Dental Implantation; Endosseous; methods; Dental Implants; Humans; Jaw; Edentulous; radiography; Mandible; radiography; Patient Care Planning; Phantoms; Imaging; Radiation Dosage; Radiography; Dental; methods; Reproducibility of Results; Tomography; X-Ray; instrumentation; methods; Tomography; X-Ray Computed; methods;

    Sammanfattning : Absorbed doses to radiosensitive organs in the head and neck from pre-implant conventional hypocycloidal, conventional spiral and computed tomography (CT) were measured with thermoluminescent dosimeters in an anthropomorphic phantom head. From conventional tomography organ doses, except to the major salivary glands, were below 0.2 mGy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Orthopaedic measurements with computed radiography. Methodological development, accuracy, and radiation dose with special reference to the weight-bearing lower extremity and the dislocating patella

    Författare :Jan Sanfridsson; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; digital.; computer-assisted; Picture Archiving and Communication Systems; computed radiography; radiography; effective dose; radiation dosage; measurements; biomechanics; dislocating patella; musculoskeletal; patellofemoral joint; Knee joint; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a measurement system for computed radiography (CR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), permitting measurements of long distances and angles in and between related images. The developed measurement system, which was based on the QUESTOR Precision Radiography (QPR) system, was applied to the weight-bearing knee with special reference to the dislocating patella. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Low-dose computed tomography of the abdomen and lumbar spine

    Författare :Muhammed Alshamari; Håkan Geijer; Seppo Koskinen; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Tomography; X-Ray Computed; Radiography; Radiation Dosage; Abdomen; Spine; Lumbosacral Region; Regression Analysis; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Radiography is a common radiologic investigation despite abundant evidence of its limited diagnostic value. On the other hand, computed tomography (CT) has a high diagnostic value and is widely considered to be among the most important advances in medicine. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Tomosynthesis in pulmonary cystic fibrosis

    Författare :Kristina Vult von Steyern; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cystic fibrosis; Lung; Radiation dose; Radiography; Scoring methods; Tomography; spiral computed; X-ray computed;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to investigate whether chest tomosynthesis might be used in pulmonary cystic fibrosis, to design and validate a tomosynthesis scoring system, and to determine the effective dose from chest tomosynthesis in children. In a prospective study starting in 2008 clinical chest radiography or computed tomography (CT) were supplemented with a tomosynthesis examination of the lungs. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Acromioclavicular joint dislocations. Epidemiology, radiography and outcome

    Författare :Jonas Nordin; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AC-led; Akromioklavikularled; Luxation; Epidemiologi; Kirurgi; Röntgen; AC-joint; Acromioclavicular joint; Acromioclavicular dislocation; Separation; Epidemiology; Radiography; Surgery; Outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocations are common and frequently affecting young adults injured during sports. The Rockwood classification system is used to grade the dislocations according to the extent of injury to the soft tissues stabilizing the joint. LÄS MER
