  1. 6. Metapopulations dynamics and sex-specific resource allocation in Silene dioica

    Författare :Elisabet Peedu; Pär Ingvarsson; Barbara Giles; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Silene dioica; Skeppvik Archipelago; Metapopulation Dynamics; Population Genetic Structuring; Genetic Diversity; Gene Flow; Sex-Specific Resource Allocation; Cost of Reproduction; Life-History Theory; Sexual Dimorphism; Reproductive Effort; biology; biologi; evolutionär genetik; evolutionary genetics; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : Rising archipelagos provide unique settings for the study of the temporal and spatial dynamics of their biota. This offers the possibility to study the ecology and genetics of early successional processes; both between islands that differ in age and within islands when already established organisms have to keep pace with the changing environment. 2. 7. Stratigraphy and Geochemistry of the Palaeoproterozoic Dannemora inlier, north-eastern Bergslagen region, central Sweden

    Författare :Peter Dahlin; Karin Högdahl; Olav Eklund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dannemora; Bergslagen region; volcaniclastic rocks; sedimentology; metasomatic alteration; lithogeochemistry; reflection seismic; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : The Palaeoproterozoic Dannemora inlier is situated in the north-eastern Bergslagen region. The inlier consists of primary and reworked volcanic deposits, stromatolitic limestone and skarn that have been subjected to upper greenschist facies metamorphism. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Systems and Synthetic Biology: “Mining human gut microbial metabolism through in vitro and in silico approaches”

    Författare :Promi Das; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gut; bile acids; metatranscriptomics; in vitro co-cultures; metagenomics; co-occurrence network; short chain fatty acids; metabolomics; metabolism; vitamins;

    Sammanfattning : The human gut microbiome is a consequence of mutual co-evolutionary interaction between the eukaryotic and prokaryotic parts of the mammalian holobiont. Based on the environmental and dietary inputs, there is a succession of microorganisms living inside the human colon. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The challenges of continuity in family businesses in Rwanda

    Författare :Pierre Sindambiwe; Mattias Nordqvist; Francesco Chirico; Celestin Musekura; Alexandra Dawson; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Focusing on a developing country, this study investigates how an owning family builds its business’ continuity. While scholars of family businesses tend to depict the continuity of a family firm in terms of family succession, preserving the family legacy, or the firm’s longevity, in the social context of a developing country that is dominated by instability and hostility, family firms are subject to day-by-day survival risks. 5. 10. Interactions between natural enemies and the dioecious herb Silene dioica

    Författare :Viktoria Pettersson; Barbara E. Giles; Lars Ericson; Pia Mutikainen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Silene dioica; Delia criniventris; Caryocolum viscariella; Microbotryum violaceum; plant-herbivore interactions; plant -pathogen interactions; sex bias; sex rato; successional gradients; fitness effects; Skeppsvik Archipelago; Terrestrial ecology; Terrestisk ekologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : About 6% of all angiosperms are dioecious. This separation of sexual function to male and female individuals, and the fundamentally different patterns of reproductive resource allocation that follows that separation, are thought to have important ecological and evolutionary consequences for plant enemy interactions.
