  1. 1. Leishmania donovani lipophosphoglycan : effects on actin and phagosomal maturation

    Författare :Åsa Holm; Maria Fällman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Leishmania donovani promastigotes survive intracellularly in macrophages by inhibiting phagosomal maturation. This ability is conferred by surface lipophosphoglycan (LPG), which is transferred to the host-cell plasma and phagosomal membranes during phagocytosis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Interplay of human macrophages and Mycobacterium tuberculosis phenotypes

    Författare :Johanna Raffetseder; Maria Lerm; Olle Stendahl; Vesa Loitto; Trude Helen Flo; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is the pathogen causing tuberculosis (TB), a disease most often affecting the lung. 1.5 million people die annually due to TB, mainly in low-income countries. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Effects of lipophosphoglycan on macrophage actin dynamics

    Författare :Katarina Tejle; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Leishmania donovani is a blood-borne tropicial parasite, which infects humans through bites by Phlebotomine sandflies. The parasite survives and multiplies inside macrophages in inner organs, and causes the deadly disease visceral leishmaniasis (Kala-Azar). Lipophosphoglycan (LPG) is the major surface component of Leishmania donovani promastigotes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Leishmania donovani Lipophosphoglycan : Modulation of Macrophage and Dendritic Cell Function

    Författare :Katarina Tejle; Birgitta Rasmusson; Karl-Eric Magnusson; Olle Stendahl; Marita Troye-Blomberg; Linköpings universitet; []

  5. 5. Regulation of phagocytosis and phagolysosome fusion in human leukocytes

    Författare :Maria Lindmark; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Professional phagocytes such as neutrophil granulocytes and macrophages are an esential part of the innate immune system. The neutrophils form the first line of defence against invading microorganisms and are important for rapid killing of the intruders. LÄS MER
