   Sammanfattning : Leishmania donovani is a blood-borne tropicial parasite, which infects humans through bites by Phlebotomine sandflies. The parasite survives and multiplies inside macrophages in inner organs, and causes the deadly disease visceral leishmaniasis (Kala-Azar).
