  1. 6. Laser diode systems for photodynamic therapy and medical diagnostics

    Författare :Eva Samsöe Andersen; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quasi-phasematching; photodynamic therapy; laser-induced fluorescence; medical laser systems.; Histology; cytochemistry; histochemistry; tissue culture; Histologi; Laserteknik; Laser technology; cytokemi; histokemi; vävnadskultur; Diagnostik; Diagnostics; second harmonic generation; pulsed lasers; spatial filtering; Diode lasers; optical feedback; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Samsöe Andersen;

    Sammanfattning : This work concerns techniques for improvement of the coherence properties of diode lasers so that they may be used in two specific medical applications: (Interstitial) photodynamic therapy (PDT) and laser-induced fluorescence diagnostics. In the first application, spatial coherence is crucial, since the treatment light should be delivered through relatively thin optical fibers to optimize treatment and to facilitate minimally invasive treatment. 2. 7. High speed CMOS optical receiver

    Författare :Håkan Bengtson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Optical communication develops very fast and is today the main method for long distance wired communication. However cost is still high. Looking back to the evolution of optical transmission systems, one main objective of system development has become more and more important; minimize cost per gigabytes per second per kilometre, Gb/s/km. 3. 8. A sub-5 fs 100 TW optical parametric synthesizer

    Författare :Peter Fischer; Laszlo Veisz; Ove Axner; Cord L. Arnold; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optical parametric amplification OPA ; optical parametric synthesizer OPS optimization; energy stability; carrier envelop phase stability; temporal intensity contrast; saturation; fewcycle; tera watt; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : State-of-the-art ultrashort light sources in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions provide direct access to the femtosecond realm, thereby enabling understanding and control of electronic processes within matter. On the other hand, ultra-intense light pulses lead to the emergence of relativistic electron motion and many related phenomena, such as electron & ion acceleration and high-order harmonic generation in plasmas. Sammanfattning : The rapid development of wearable technology has provided opportunities to ergonomics research and practice with new ways for workload measurements, data analytics, risk assessment and intervention. This thesis aims at developing and evaluating methods using wearable technologies to assess physical risk factors at work, and further to give feedback to employees to improve their work techniques. 5. 10. Dynamic and Static Diffractive Optics - some Examples

    Författare :Björn Löfving; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; subwavelength grating; spatial light modulator; phase retrieval; diffractive optics; ferroelectric liquid crystal; analog-to-digital conversion; optical switch; feedback generated hologram;

    Sammanfattning : Diffractive optics is a modern branch of optics, that exploits microstructures to manipulate the propagation of light. Fast computers and the progress in manufacturing technique of microelectronics have made possible a rapid development of diffractive optics during the past 10 years. LÄS MER
