11. Investigating polymorphism in small molecules using three-dimensional electron diffraction
Sammanfattning : For scientific, regulatory and intellectual property reasons, the discovery and characterisation of polymorphic systems is an integral aspect of the development process of any solid-formulated drug product. Yet, these studies are often hindered by crystal quality and size, poor yields and the generation of mixtures of phases. LÄS MER
12. Synthesis of Biomimetic Systems for Proton and Electron Transfer Reactions in the Ground and Excited State
Sammanfattning : A detailed understanding of natural photosynthesis provides inspiration for the development of sustainable and renewable energy sources, i.e. a technology that is capable of converting solar energy directly into chemical fuels. This concept is called artificial photosynthesis. LÄS MER
13. Asymmetric and symmetric hydration of hydrated anions in aqueous solution
Sammanfattning : The interaction between solvent and solute is a very important chemical property that has large impact on the chemical reactions taking place. In Paper I and II the structure of hydrated sulfite, selenite and selenate in aqueous solutions are determined and compared. LÄS MER
14. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts
Sammanfattning : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials. 15. Reaction kinetics of NH3-SCR over Cu-CHA from first principles
Sammanfattning : Ammonia-assisted selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) is an advanced technology to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from lean-burn engines. NH3 is added to the exhaust gas and reacts selectively with NOx, forming N2 and H2O. LÄS MER
