  1. 11. On the Effect of Occupant Behavior and Internal Heat Gains on the Building’s Energy Demand : A case study of an office building and a retirement home

    Författare :Jakob Carlander; Bahram Moshfegh; Jan Akander; Shahnaz Amiri; Sture Holmberg; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; building energy simulation; energy efficiency indicators; occupant behaviour; energy performance; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : About 12% of the greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of the total energy use in the EU derive from the buildings. User behavior, construction, and HVAC systems has a significant impact on a building’s energy use. If a building is to be energy-efficient it is important to understand how all these parameters are connected. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Volunteer Kinematics and Muscle Activity in Dynamic Events Representative of Pre-crash Scenarios, Evaluation Data for Human Body Models

    Författare :Ghazaleh Ghaffari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EMG; volunteer; evasive manoeuvres; human body model; validation data; occupant kinematics; pre‐pretensioner belt; lane change; boundary conditions;

    Sammanfattning : Advanced integrated safety technologies in modern cars such as collision avoidance intervention and pre-crash activated restraint systems involve comprehensive research on how vehicle occupants respond to these systems in pre-crash situations. Human Body Models (HBMs) are mathematical tools developed to predict human responses and injury outcomes in different pre-crash and in-crash situations. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Evaluation of Morphed Human Body Models for Diverse Occupant Safety Analysis

    Författare :Karl-Johan Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diversity; Morphing; Validation; Virtual testing; Safety; Human body model;

    Sammanfattning : Female, obese, and elderly occupants are at increased risk of injury in vehicle accidents. Human Body Models (HBMs) are used to represent the human anatomy and to study injury mechanisms in mathematical crash test simulations. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Contaminant transport by air infiltration from crawl space to occupant area: Numerical simulations and field measurements in Swedish schools

    Författare :Fredrik Domhagen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; crawl space; contaminants; infiltration model; monte carlo method; airtightness; air permeability;

    Sammanfattning : Some Swedish school buildings built in the 1960’s and 1970’s have indoor air quality problems. Many of these buildings have a crawl space from which contaminants are suspected to originate. The poor indoor air quality cause discomfort among pupils and teachers and a solution to the problem is not always found. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Passenger kinematics in evasive maneuvers

    Författare :Emma Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; volunteer kinematics; Active Human Body Model; pre-crash; active muscles; occupant variability; evasive maneuvers;

    Sammanfattning : In situations that might lead to a vehicle crash, drivers often perform an evasive maneuver, such as braking or steering, in an attempt to avoid a crash. If a crash was not avoided, the maneuver could influence the injury outcome by altering the occupant’s position. LÄS MER
